Just saw this post, so I’ll resurrect it for this cornet. 1962 Conn 9A Victor short cornet. Coprion bell and leadpipe, in really nice original condition.

To encourage peace in this forum, I have deleted all of my posts in this thread.

      God bless.

What does this supposed to be meaning ?

I haven't seen any non-peaceful responses. Some generalizations corrected, and disambiguiation, some restatement of pertinent facts, all in a spirit of accord.

Or are you suggesting that you are about to blow an o-ring because everything you said isn't being accepted at face value, and you are trying to erase the conversation so that it never happened ? If so, you need a different kind of doctor.

I was afraid that my posts might have offended some people,
      so I deleted my posts.

      It's that simple.

Please do not insinuate that I "need a different kind of doctor".
      Be nice.

I enjoyed watching that video but the thing that surprised me was that those little clip-on tuners fit on THAT part of the bell! Had a little session last night and gave it a try and It fit just fine and worked great... so thanks!! 👍

I'm 34 and I doubt I will ever truly "retire." I think that is a common attitude among my generation.

So, with my new perspective as I noted above, have I become a part of your generation?

      Perhaps!

Hi Richard. The SEV was the top of the line model by Getzen at that time. They were mostly silver plated, but you could order in lacquer as well.

I just continue to practice 1/2 hour or so every day.I also try to use a different horn say for 4 or 5 days in a row. Currently though I have been playing my Conn Concert Grand for a week and a half. Doesn't play quite ass good as my strad but I just like it.

My favorite watch has H3 Tritium markings. Radio active technology from the military. An old Military compass I have that was made about 50 years ago still has a very slight glow to it as it used the same radio active substance in a paint on form. Only now Tritium in small capsules make watch making safe to the maker..... so they think. Might glow for 25 years on the watch face and hands the advertisements claim. If it doesn't last that long, I'll never likely know since I'm already a senior citizen. swing.jpg total dark.jpg

Played better than a lot at North Texas, not as good as others.

Did you play in the One O'Clock Lab Band?

Hi Neal! I've been the in the hospital all week, sorry, just saw this. I did not play in the One O'Oclock, rather concentrating on composition and musical direction.

      Hope you are ok, Kehaulani.

Obviously, one can not quantify a mythos.

Nor mastery, by the way, there is always something new to learn.

Taking it to another dimension. Fourth valve. My flugelhorns must have 4 valves as engaging the alternative fingerings with the fourth valve depressed, keeps those flugelhorns in a true tone. And while my Kanstul has a first valve tuning trigger, I never use it as it's fourth valve when engaged, covers the task at hand. My Getzen flugel, has no trigger, and I like it that way.

How does the trumpet sound with the current mouthpiece?
I am playing it so rough at best! I am going to say it sounds fine to me - kinda in tune with the video tutorials and on pitch on Tonestro.

I have found there to be many advantages but more with the back end related to the gap.

Would you be able to explain what you mean by this?, i really dont follow you?
