Free Brass Arrangement- National Anthem of the Ukraine
-
This arrangement was done to honor the people of the Ukraine in their continuing struggle for freedom in their country.
This can be performed as a stand-alone piano solo or combined with the brass. It can also be performed as a brass quartet without the piano.
The conflict that is now facing the country of the Ukraine will end but the courageous defense of their country will be always remembered as the struggle of good against evil.
Our hearts and prayers go out to the country and at this time, the conclusion of the war is not known but the courage of the people of the Ukraine will never be forgotten. -
@branson Nice idea; but under normal circumstances, we don't allow political posts here.
-
We played it at my band last week.
-
We did, too.

I don't think this is about politics but rather Nationalism, and that makes this thread so special. Yes?
-
@dr-go Well, we prohibited all Brexit discussion; but Ukraine is somewhat different.
-
@barliman2001 I certainly agree with keeping politics out. The line quickly becomes fuzzy and the opinions are affected by global warming. There is a lot that the "average westerner" or "easterner" does not know and the online"pick your subject matter" experts now have swung over to "eastern Europe" politics - where they have equal brainlessness.
I can only recommend NOT using asocial media as a primary source to build an opinion. Try some real research in history first.Offering an arrangement for free that applies to a current world "event"/"situation" is admirable in my eyes. Musicians have always supported peace and understanding - unless you were the lead trumpet in the Buddy Rich Big Band...
That all being said, we will be welcoming a refugee family in our home shortly. Civilians deserve the right of pursuit of happiness and bullets make that tough. I hope that they like trumpet instead...
-
@rowuk We're deeply involved in the rescue operations as well - well, apart from myself because I managed to catch pneumonia and am incapacited in hospital... just strong enough to slowly walk from my room to the café, only to find that it is closed on Saturdays...
But until I was brought here, we organised three truck-loads of aid for Lviv, and tomorrow my wife and her son are driving to the Polish-Ukrainian border to pick up several musician friends from Lviv with their families and deliver about 500 kilos of medical supplies. Our first "convoy" brought 500 kilos of army rations and collected nine orphaned children for foster families in Austria. And next week we are clearing out of our Vienna home to live just in Germany for six months to make space for two Ukrainian families. Have to find storage for 49 trumpets first... yes, I know, I can always send them to you in unmarked cases! -
@rowuk Trumpet players have done a lot in Ukraine already... a friend of mine (professional flutist in Lviv opera, by choice second trumpet in the local fire brigade orchestra, lingerie model due to her exceptional... assets...) volunteered for the National Guard and on her first day of duty, destroyed a Russian APC... she unbuttoned her uniform to the belt, played Kalinka on her trumpet and minced her way to that APC... the crew opened all hatches to applaud her... and at that moment, she chucked in what in WWII would have been called a "geballte Ladung" - five hand grenades wired together...
After the explosion, she played the Ukrainian Anthem...She plays drums as well:
-
IMO, this is not arbitrary as other topics' opinions might be. It's solidarity and compassion about what is clearly immoral and despicable.
-
@kehaulani Of course. That is why it is still here.
-
The Ukrainian National Anthem played in subway station repurposed as a bomb shelter in Kyiv.
Lyrics in English:
The glory and freedom of Ukraine has not yet perished
Luck will still smile on us brother-Ukrainians.
Our enemies will die, as the dew does in the sunshine,
and we, too, brothers, we'll live happily in our land. We’ll not spare either our souls or bodies to get freedom
and we’ll prove that we brothers are of Kozak kin. What are the original lyrics to Ukraine’s national anthem?
In Ukrainian alphabet:
In Latin alphabet:
Shche ne vmerla Ukrayiny, ni slava, ni volya,
Shche nam, brattya-ukrayintsi, usmikhnet’sya dolya.
Zginut’ nashi vorizhen’ki, yak rosa na sontsi,
Zazhivemo i mi, brattya, u svoyiy storontsi.Dushu y tilo mi polozhim za nashu svobodu
I pokazhem, shcho mi, brattya, kozats’kogo rodu.
