Unfortunately there are a lot of people with no qualifications that are powerful posters - but with no redeeming value. Those people would not DREAM of standing up at ITG and saying the same things that they post.
And there it is! Unfortunately the Internet is often used in a way that allows people to say anything to anyone. Instead of beer muscles (people that have played in bars know exactly what I mean) maybe there needs to be the term "Internet muscles".
Speaking of beer muscles (or JD muscles....), I would like to coin a new term: Pizza bore!

Well, has it dawned on anyone that we've been talking about this for days and not one discussion on music?
Oh, but there has been on other threads. I posted one as an example on the history of prevalence of music types from 1913 to 2019. Quit interesting as well as entertaining. Give it a view.

May I suggest the two of you take three weeks to prepare the 1st etude in Charlier and post it to YouTube.

I can do it in one week with the mouthpiece tied behind my back!That's great! Super! So we can expect (excitedly) to see your rendition of Charlier #1 on YouTube? If a week was a bit short (chances are you're like most of us and busy), why not take three weeks so it will be good and polished. Sincerely, you're a good trumpet player and we look forward to your offering unless you're goofing off which is disappointing as the idea of preparing Charlier pieces and posting them wasn't posted as a joke.

This would be a welcomed experiential notch to put in my belt. I really could achieve this in a week if I would be more focused toward this goal AND Tobylou would except on his end. However, it appears he has declined at this time to accept the challenge. So with my current patient load made possible by our Covid friend, and United Healthcare sending me large batches of virus related care guidelines to write, I will keep my more creative time priorities focused to the medicine side of my life. Once Tobylou changes his plans, your suggestion is well accepted.

@Dr-GO
Sounds great, looking forward to it! -
I certainly need more than a week for any of the Charlier trancendental etudes. It has been on my stand for about 2 months and I get about 30 min/day with it. So much to tie together.

Well, as I read it, it's not a pursuit for perfection, rather an arbitrary time frame to just meet the challenge of doing what one can do within a timef frame; something to do for fun and challenge during this virus period to beat the boredom.

Never waste a note...

I could say the same in reading the phrasing of Charlie Parker. His notes don't flow as easily on a three valved instrument as it does with the keys on the saxophone.

As this topic is slowly getting off the rails, and there have not been any inputs regarding rules for some time, I am locking this topic.
