@mediocreplayer The analysis of a sticky valve is to first check cleanliness (dirt/damage/distortion - thank you Ivan) and proper lubrication, then comes the interface finger position to valve stroke. Proper lubrication means BONE DRY VALVES AND CASINGS, then oil to create isolation between them. Oil floats on water so drying first is a real part of oiling.
Sometimes we can hone the valves (with a loss of compression) until they work or push the player to change hand position and play with the tips of their fingers.

I have only had issues with used instruments broken in by someone else.

And Nikolay also provides a very good traditionally-styled student flugelhorn, the DUNONIA model. Here is a demo video:

It looks very nice. Do you have a big crop of cicadas this year?

Thanks! Not nearly as many this year so far. Lots of katydids though.

@zetka I recently sent some vintage [1950s-60s] Amati mouthpieces out for scanning, and the design of that "2" reminded me of several different models, all stamped 1 or 2, that were radically different...
The other thing was a "7BV" that oddly resembles a hypothetical Schilke 7B5...

@BigDub Late to reply, the trumpet looks tome to be a Courtourier Conical bore, I have one that came from Old Lou's estate that belonged to his father. Picture to come.

      Dr GO

I do not have a Callet trumpet but have one of his mouthpieces that he hand lathed for my Olds Recording in his studio when I lived in New York City. An amazingly wonderful individual.

My reply is more however based on you noting the more recent maker of his trumpet, Kanstul is now defunct. I have a Kanstul that recently had an issue that I was unaware a valve cap had fallen off. I tried on line to find a replacement and had a heck of a time (I have had no problems for instance finding parts for my 1946 vintage Martin Committee).

So out of desperation, I contacted Jason Harrelson to see if he has machined caps for the Kanstul, and he did. So I got a complete set of valve caps from him and they fit and work perfectly.

So if you doe need any replacement parts for your Callet, do contact Harrelson Trumpets and they would most likely accommodate your needs.

@administrator Watch the video. There are studies that compare different wind instrument effects on ocular pressure.

      Dear Sir,

while I do understand that you are under pressure to sell, perhaps this is not the proper place for such a transaction... we are a trumpets-only community, and instruments like the Bb tuba offered are outside our range of experience and not sought after here. But perhaps - if you agree - I can find a better channel for you.

I took a new photo of my 1960 Conn 6B Victor, and included its case in the photo. The trumpet is in excellent original condition, and it’s just like the one I played in high school. I bought it on eBay years ago for $300 just for nostalgia, but it does play well. Not for sale, BTW…

I've heard it's fantastic, but tough. Great for a student to earn their tuition!
