With the above said, I might add, Barliman has been doing a fine job of policing as well.

Barliman and Kujo are very capable as is our administrator. I think we have a good team and am happy with this. Perhaps having Leadership meetings on a regular basis may help distribute the load and minimize the burden, which again argues to adding another mediator. Team work always wins.

Leadership meetings are a bit difficult if you are on different continents...

Not in the world of Zoom. It is interesting how this Covid crisis has opened up my reach to people. I am seeing patients mostly by Zoom in the last couple of months and I am getting appointments from all over this country.

If the intent of the moderator is to mirror TMs policy use, perhaps recruiting a prior TM moderator may also assist. Rowuk has many times offered his experience wtih monitoring as suggestions. Perhaps recruiting Rowuk to assist would be helpful, and I apologize to Rowuk in advance for suggestion he be drafted.

...And that's not a matter of opinion.

      Which is your opinion.

Which you missed, totally. That the Shaggs are bad is not a matter of opinion. One might like them but that still doesn't make them good.

Got the point that this is your opinion.

Letting water sink to it's own level seems to me the most reasonable.

From my experience, water sinking to its on level causes a lot of structural damage.

Not sure I would agree with this one. Modal use and forms have progressed significantly since Bach's time.

How does that account for how today's musicians would follow classical greats, like Bach?

Not sure this response is relevant as J Jericho was lamenting on whether Bach would have been great at improvisation. Today's musicians would have progressed very well if there was no prior history of Bach. Now, if there were no Charlie Parker, or Dizzy Gillespie, we may have had a problem with the more rapid evolution of improvisation.

So in answering your question as I understand it... There is no need to account for the followers of Bach.

It's maybe not the best love song ever written. But it's one of the better "angry love songs". 😉

It's one of my favorites, and a popular song in my jazz trio's regular lineup. Initially, we performed it as a ballad. It became a crowd-favorite after we switched over to a double-time feel, to give the song a bit more energy.

Mike, I would disagree. Nothing says love like "The Look of Love":

Of note, Li'l Darlin' was drafted initially by composer Neal Hefti as a driving up-beat tune. Everyone knows it as this and I must admit I have NEVER heard it as a bop tune:

It depends on how it is played. I have heard it as Latin, driving bop and ballad. It was written as a ballad but has taken many changes by many musicians.

Compared to today's midstream music, I think that can be attributed to three fundamental things.

The use of the same (basically) fundamental harmonic structure.

Not sure I would agree with this one. Modal use and forms have progressed significantly since Bach's time.
