Were there just certain years for the Ambassador ?
Mine was from the mid-60's. I believe TMD's is from the late 50's. His is a nice horn as well.

...I have heard that the odd pro and semi-pro player actually use the Ambassador at performances...
Lee Morgan's Cornbread album features him on the Olds Ambassador. My favorite jazz song of all times is on that album... "Ceora".

Are they really that good?
They are. I put my Ambassador third in line in sound quality to my Trumpet playing list of horns with my Martin Committee and Harreslon Summit the only horns I hold in higher tonal regard.
If you note my list of horns, I put my Ambassador ahead of my two Recordings, and the Super Recording for tonal quality, it's THAT good.

Not to get peon their shoes?
I might also note that Harrelson crafted for me his 5mm copy of the Jettone Studio B and it is a perfect copy (better than the new Jettone) AND with his 5mm interchangeable components I put on a larger backbore that allows the 5mm version to play more effortlessly over the original vintage Jettone. So I can play for hours now with that Jettone and not bottom out from fatigue.

Looking to buy vintage JetTone Custom 1A trumpet mouthpiece in good condition.
These vintage JetTones are GREAT mouthpieces. And I mean VINTAGE. The new versions (after Jettone sold to another manufacturer) are not the same mouthpiece. I have the vintage Jettone Studio B (gifted to my by Maynard) and it plays amazingly well.
You can tell the original vintage Jettones over the new ones as the vintage have an italic script engraved into the rim as Jettone.
Praise to God Kehaulani, I am so glad you are back. So sorry about the vision loss but thinking nothing but power thoughts heading your way!

Greetings
I have a question re an injury....
I experienced an overuse injury? happened suddenly...
The fact that the injury happened suddenly precludes this from being an overuse injury. I believe it is more neurological in origin as suggested in Rowuk's comments and would go with his advice at this point.
Ribbon mics remain my favorite for open horn or muted horn for recording.
Our hospital serves bedpan omelets... or as an alternative option, eggs over sleazy.
Mike, I have personally been there when I blew a hole through my kidney and pieces were floating in my urinary tact that blocked flow through by bladder. I had a catheter there for about a week. I was fortunate to be allowed to play my pocket trumpet from my ICU bed (mute inserted of course) and all went well.
HOWEVER with that said I witnessed the darnedest thing. When I remained playing within the staff, my catheter drip rate into the bag remained essentially unchanged. However, when I started playing above the staff the drip rate would decrease. So I tried playing around the C above staff, the urine output essentially stopped. That is when my nurse (a male nurse) started getting concerned. He didn't seem to mind in between the range of the staff and high C as he didn't have to come into the room as often to empty my bag. I actually "published" these results on TrumpetMaster at the time I was conducting this "experiment" . Also did an experiment while attached to an oximeter on circular breathing, but reporting on that is for another thread.
Bottom line, physiologically speaking, you won't piss anyone off if you continually play above high C!

...Covering your nose and mouth tightly with Duck Tape is 100% effective against COVID-19.
AND you'll never have to pay taxes, ever again!
Trying to figure why the prices increase as the size decreases?
Another recommendation that I observed as working well is watching how far people stand away from Vulgano Brother while he is wearing is pink Sargent Pepper full length coat.
I personally find playing loud and high optimizes social distancing, so a feel well protected using these techniques.

Monette mouthpieces are gold plated, and while I was a skeptic before I became a customer, I’m now sold.
My Harrelson 5 mm is gold plated. 5 mm and Gold, the best of both worlds!
