Thanks, Stuart. I'm sure Greg Spence appreciates your support. He's come a long way since you knew him. Quite impressive, huh!

@administrator That post was sent just a few minutes ago.

When I checked my email to after my original post failed, I found the message accepting my reg and asking for email confirmation, which I did. Then there was another timestamped after I did my initial login saying I had requested a change to my email address, which I HAD NOT done. I reconfirmed and was able to login and post the message you saw.

One possibility: The initial field when you login is labeled "Username/Email address". I may have supplied my email address rather than my username, Could that have been seen as a request to change the email address. In the email requesting confirmation of the bogus new email, both the new and the changed address were the same.

When I logged in and posted successfully I definitly used my user name and not my email address, Are they not interchangeable there?
      It's a mystery,
      Gregco

@Vulgano-Brother Wow! It must be well over fifty years since I last heard them. Thanks for posting! There was an oddball album I bought at the time that had a brilliant assortment of then-contemporary themes (including wry musical humor) using J.S. Bach as a basis. Lost in the shuffle of years; I still think about it from time to time.

@J-Jericho said in New Guy from Ky!!:

It's a post-1979 Olds, likely manufactured recently. I'll bet that the bell engraving says "Olds", rather than "F. E. Olds & Sons". It looks like a modern Blessing variation made in China, perhaps serviceable, perhaps not. The valve block looks identical to a Blessing cornet that I had several years ago. The valves moved nicely, but one was misaligned. After I corrected that, intonation was still not that good.

Is the trumpet pictured above serviceable and playable? Maybe. My first trumpet was one of the worst musical instruments ever made, and Charles77's is probably much better, but I still developed and improved my skills on it. I upgraded to an intermediate horn after a year when my band director told me to get rid of the one I was playing.

Ain't had no problem out of it yet. I keep it clean and oiled, and greased. I'd like to have me a Bach Strativarius one day. But, as of right now the wallet, and LIFE says no...LOL!!!

@Bruce I've seen the x-rays - no doubt about it. No roots any more. As to gums/jaw - did not know the exact terminology. And yes, I know about the risks.

And that is how the orchestra looked like, in the Teatro Civico Salvatore Cicero in Cefalu... (here with Brahms' Double Concerto)

With the use of your music glasses? I see. Hmmm
