We have no connection and we have every connection.

We are distracted by our differences and attracted by our similarities

I see one similarity common to all

We strive for excellence in what we do and we strive to be the best we can be

I am here because my friends and we here are all friends, tolerate me and offer me guidance and a community spirit second to none.

Yes we might disagree but that is driven by the desire to help each other.

Welcome to a wonderful place full of wonderful people

      Long may it prosper

@barliman2001 said in I'm suspending new users for a couple of days:

@administrator Probably just bots snding the same stuff over and over again... I've managed to ban those that I became aware of...

It's just that they're flooding in through the cracks faster than I can manage them.

Love Retro mod horns. Comfort is my biggest motivation. If it makes it easier to play I am all for it.
Although I now only play modern horns, have in the past modified several horns. Did not hurt resale price at all.
Owners horn can do whatever they want with it.

Too difficult to say on an online forum. Do you have a private teacher?

@zetka on a similar note, I found this image [originally taken May 2020] showing the piston from my Musica Steyr cornet [Amati 2551 or B-1038, the Connquest/Wonderphone-inspired model] and an Amati Excelent Super [yes, that is how it was spelled], with G3 Meister pistons.
The barrel is slightly different, with the Musica having the guide notch punched out of the top like Conn and in line with the pin, and the G3 having it molded from the bottom across from the pin. Conn, KHS, and Chinese makers had the pin mounted to the mobile portion of the piston, versus Amati attaching it to the barrel. The Excelent Super was Monel, with the Excelent and other models having Amati's infamous Chromium surface piston.

@administrator That post was sent just a few minutes ago.

When I checked my email to after my original post failed, I found the message accepting my reg and asking for email confirmation, which I did. Then there was another timestamped after I did my initial login saying I had requested a change to my email address, which I HAD NOT done. I reconfirmed and was able to login and post the message you saw.

One possibility: The initial field when you login is labeled "Username/Email address". I may have supplied my email address rather than my username, Could that have been seen as a request to change the email address. In the email requesting confirmation of the bogus new email, both the new and the changed address were the same.

When I logged in and posted successfully I definitly used my user name and not my email address, Are they not interchangeable there?
      It's a mystery,
      Gregco

      @barliman2001 Love it

Dreams are often in a different place to where we think they are.

Columbus had a dream and it was not where he thought it would be. The result of his folly was the discovery of the New World and the Mayflower.

We are chained to our aspirations we are fenced in by our expectations we are restricted by our desires.

I have never limited myself to whatever I am expected to achieve and because of this I have exceeded my own limited expectations.

I was condemned at school for being a dreamer. I believe it was the best part of me. I have excelled and exceeded in all things because of my dreams.

The founding fathers dreamed of a place where they could be whatever they wanted to be.

President Lincoln dreamed of freeing the Nation of the scourge of Slavery.

Dr Martin Luther King dreamed of a nation who would collectively judge a man not by the colour of his skin but the content of his soul.

President Kennedy gave the Nation a dream and the moon landings were the result.

The result of Dr Kings dream was the election of President Obama.

The world is not perfect and we are not perfect beings but all we need is our dreams and the courage to act upon them and we can make the world a better place.

The very best things we have are our dreams. They take us if we have the courage to follow them, beyond our feeble existence into a world of beauty and new capabilities beyond our wildest imagining.

      Long may they continue.
