RE: Customized Olds Recording Model
It looks like a solution to a problem that needed to be addressed by the techniques and skills of the player, not by adding a questionable, possibly detrimental, and undoubtedly expensive appendage to a trumpet that plays superbly without such modification.

RE: Bots are getting scary
@jolter How encouraging. People's reputations, health, and lives are at the mercy of junk programming. So how can this problem be overcome? Can it be overcome, or will it be a cyber-endemic disease?

I stand corrected. Here's the explanation:

RE: For those who remember gunshowtickets
The trial of Lynn Fogarty began last Monday. Jury selection took the better part of three days, due to a special request granted to the defense attorney by the Judge. The jury did not hear the case, as the defendant, as a result of a plea bargain, pleaded guilty to the crime of Voluntary Manslaughter rather than be tried for First Degree Murder. Her sentencing is scheduled for April 3 of this year. The possibilities/options range from 1 - 10 years in prison.

RE: Trumpet Springs
A quick internet search came up with:
Dawkes https://www.dawkes.co.uk/spare-parts/trumpet (with whom you already have experience)
Thomann https://www.thomann.de/gb/replacement_parts_for_brass_wind_instruments.html
East Coast Instruments https://www.eastcoastinstruments.com/shop/index.php?route=product/search&search=trumpet valve springs (with whom I have no experience)
Although the cost of custom springs may be high, you might contact https://www.airedalesprings.co.uk/springs/compression-springs/ .
Getting in touch with these companies may result in success or at least point you toward other suppliers.
Clipping springs, while lowering the height, increases spring rate, rather than reducing it http://kbdelta.com/blog/spring-rate-what-and-how-calculated/ .

RE: Buddha Belly Mute Co. - Just launched!
@bobmiller1969 Interesting designs. Your approach to creating these mutes is admirable. Please let us know when your videos become available. BTW - what material(s) do you use to make them? Bamboo?

RE: A little humour
Couple in their eighties are both having problems remembering things. During a check-up, the doctor tells them that they're physically okay, but they might want to start writing things down to help them remember.
Later that night, while watching TV, the old man gets up from his chair 'Want anything while I'm in the kitchen?' he asks.
'Will you get me a bowl of ice cream?'
'Sure.'
'Don't you think you should write it down so you can remember it?' she asks.
'No, I can remember it.'
'Well, I'd like some strawberries on top, too. Maybe you should write it down, so as not to forget it?'
He says, 'I can remember that. You want a bowl of ice cream with strawberries.'
'I'd also like whipped cream. I'm certain you'll forget that write it down?' she asks.
Irritated, he says, 'I don't need to write it down, I can remember it! Ice cream with strawberries and whipped cream - I got it, for goodness sake!'Then he toddles into the kitchen. After about 20 minutes, the old man returns from the kitchen and hands his wife a plate of bacon and eggs. She stares at the plate for a moment.
'Where's my toast?' -
