Harrelson also makes a modular kit:

This would be ideal for a beginner from a performance perspective, however not a great beginning from the financial perspective. It is truly amazing how the combinations of throat (third row in kit) and back bore selections (forth row in kit) really reduce the resistance of the mouthpiece once inserted in the horn, making the play so much easier. In addition are the varieties of cups and rims that grune picture above. In addition, the Harrelson modular also contains nuts (Top row above throats) that fill the gap from the back of the mouthpiece to the leadpipe of the horn.

I love my Torpedo cases - I have several singles plus a triple I use for my flugel. I find the pockets on them can hold plenty of extras, but I use a separate bag for mutes. My mutes are expensive, and I don’t like to pack them so tightly together, as is needed for the supplied mute bag. The cases aren’t cheap, but they are very protective and hold up very well. My oldest one is 11yrs old and shows very little wear, though it has traveled extensively!

I love how Torpedo gives you a large quantity of various Velcro insert liners so you can custom fit sections to match bell flairs, and snug up to minimize movements of multiple horns contained in the case.

@barliman2001, he hasn't been here for almost a year. Do you really think he cares?

I just hope he is doing well and in a good place. As a wheel chair dependent person, I know life can be rough.

Seriously Seth and Dale, I am so envious of the both of you to have the amazing equipment to view these planets. How thrilling it must be to see the details of what I can only see as a speck of light!

I have a moon rising about 4:49 am, which soon transitions into a meatier shower to hydrate the aperture so noted, radiating from the thin layer of silver spayed onto a sheet of glass (otherwise know a mirror) mounted on an adjacent body (the sink).

      Hi Dr-GO,
If praying is talking and meditation is listening, then I'm praying that some of our leaders will begin to listen with a little more warmth in their hearts.

      Let's see . . .talking - listening - talking - etc. Don't they exist, simultaneously?

They can. But expressing and hearing... That's the key!

Then PLEASE stop quibbling. No one else on this thread is quibbling. Can we put some oil on your quibble so we can move on with this thread? Thanks.

You are 100 correct. I got this thread mixed up with another and I'm truly sorry for the agrivation and time spent. I've been communicating with a friend most of the day who is giving up on living and my mind's just in the wrong place. Again, sorry.

Thanks Kehaulani. As I noted before, I was confused. We are among good company.

      This isn't about valve oil.

The post clearly states "Opinions about valve oil " I believe we have been on topic here so am a bit confused regarding your concern.

Just that the point is being missed. The question is not about valve oil because there are no valves.

Really confused here as the posts I see are about valves.

I too started out as a keyboard player on the Hammond B3. Have been into trumpets now for over 50 years and have much experience with cases especially since in the newer instruments are not sold with cases. I have found that the non traditional tube case torpedo works great

    • RE: The Blues

When I was mentoring a JR High jazz band, the director would write on the white board the notes in the blues scale then would have the rhythm section play the chords while choosing the student whose turn it was to play.

The more valves one has.... more oil one needs!
