One other piece of advice I learned from Rowuk, is to also wipe the valve before oiling. This also removes the microdeposits of solid substances that can collect on the surface. Since doing this, my valves after oiling have had the quickest response I have ever experienced.

RE: Mouthpiece issue
Just received the most flat rim Harrelson makes for his 5mm mouthpieces.
I merged this to a deep cup, wide throat and wide backbore and boy have I found a gem. It creates such a dark, deep tone with amazing flexibility. Oh boy what a sound it puts into my Summit. Yeah, It fatigues, but so does great sex! -
RE: Question
All things have a lifetime they come to an end and die, and if you dont let them die when the time comes, they can become zombie like and only deliver existence with no real purpose.
So... are you saying all of us TMers here on TB are in our afterlife? Is TB trumpet heaven? TB does have it's own spirit, and I am wearing a halo... or is that the result of me having one-to-many gin and tonics?

@ssmith1226 To answer the question... two large Tupperware containers, as you can see in the background.
It is amazing what you can do with plastic these days (foreground and background included)

RE: The difference in timbre caused by using additional valves
@vulgano-brother said in The difference in timbre caused by using additional valves:
We can hear the timbre changes if we cup one ear and play a scale.
That is internal feedback but I am sure others hear it differently. I also get this effect when I have sinus congestion, which in Ohio is a lot of the time.

RE: The difference in timbre caused by using additional valves
For me, timbre change happens when I relax, then open up my embochure with my lower lip.

RE: The difference in timbre caused by using additional valves
What I hear with alternate fingerings is intonation changes.

...and trumpet
playing, whatever brand, is so great for your COPD. Actually the more resistance in horn the better the back pressure is to open up more pulmonary airways.

Or are not my drugs working for you? Another meeting under the bridge may be in order, sir

Or is Dr GO just another Bot living in the cyber world. I choose the blue
