Quite a feat, Dale. You have my deep, deep respect.Thank you, George, for the kind remarks. It really wasn’t that difficult a thing to do, though. The music, while interesting, wasn’t that difficult to play once we were familiar with it. As I said before, the piece we played at the specified breakneck speed, with a relentless click track, was somewhat of a challenge and as I told a few others, you have to get tunnel vision on the chart and pay attention to nothing but the click track. There were no retards, holds, or anything else in that piece to watch the conductor for, so it was pedal to the metal.

I’m currently involved in recording a virtual orchestral performance of Christmas music (some of it quite complicated) that will be broadcast locally in December. Playing along with a click track/backing track in headphones is a bit tricky, especially when there are holds and ritards in the piece. You have to listen to it and play along numerous times to be able to anticipate what’s happening. We’re doing multiple takes of the pieces, so the recording folks can hopefully piece together an acceptable product.
Would love to hear it when it is released, Dale.

Here’s a pretty fair job at a remote performance...if I do say so myself.......

Oh, man, hard to beat that one...Thanks. I put quite a bit of effort into it, that’s for sure.
I had to go on YouTube, find it, and copy the link, and then maneuver it yonder to here on this here site.
I’m practically exhausted just describing my efforts, here.
Don’t answer right away, George. An old fella like me has to rest up a bit now. -
Happy Halloween!

Is this what is meant by "choking the chicken"?

OMG, to be locked in a room and forced to listen to that over and over for 24 hours would be the world's worst kind of torture. -

Our band does a medley of theme songs from tv comedies in the 60s and The Adams Family is one of them. We even have to click our fingers. A fun piece to play. -
Christopher Bill has been doing the YouTube video thing for some time and has produced a "101" guide to multi-track editing. There is a great interview with him on the Brass Junkies podcast here -

Here is a link to a “Virtual Holiday Concert” that I played in, video recorded, and video edited. We played on an outdoor Band Stand in Dennis, Massachusetts (Cape Cod) in a rehearsal, socially distanced configuration. There were no announcements publicizing our production and no audience, other than those who stopped by and watched us for a few minutes on their way to somewhere else. The musicians are part of the “Sound Dunes Swing Ensemble” of Cape Cod. The leader is Jim Stamboni of Dennis, Massachusetts, a fellow Trumpet Player. We are not professionals, but we enjoy playing. Weather conditions in the three recorded sessions were not perfect by any means. There is plenty of wind, traffic noise, and low temperatures. The recording devices consisted of two iPhones and one IPad. The recording was produced for the benefit of, and hopefully enjoyment by, our communities and beyond.

Here is a concert band virtual performance I put together from the New Horizons Band of Cape Cod. I chose this piece because the tempo does not change, the key does not change, and the music is not complicated. I used GarageBand for audio editing and iMovie for the video editing and production. The video (sound and picture) was recorded on the individual performers cell phone, many on the lower resolution “selfie side” of the phone.

@j-jericho Have you guys ever tried absinthe? It tastes like a Listerine and Nyquil cocktail.

And I'm sure Dr Go will add that absinthe makes the heart grow fonder...

The following are two multitrack recordings that I put together encompassing about 10 trumpet parts and four MIDI Parts (Strings, Harp, Piano, and Bass Guitar). I played the Tuba part on trumpet and lowered it one octave on Garage Band and then lowered that track another octave. All three tracks can be heard.
The first piece is Pachelbel’s Canon. The second piece I call “Memories of Palchelbel”. It consists of Palchelbel’s Canon incorporating Maroon 5’s “Memories”. I previously posted a version of “Memories” performed by a children’s choir.
On January 20, I completed Pachelbel’s Canon and coincidently celebrated five year anniversary of my comeback.Pachelbel’s Canon
