I was thinking about how a Martin Committee allows some flexibility in pitch, so that one can bend notes if desired, which also requires the player's ability to nail the pitch when needed. This reminds me of the trombone and also fretless string instruments, such as the violin. Considering the quality of the Martin Committee, perhaps it should have been named "Stradivarius".

A giant ship's engine broke down and no one could repair it, so they hired a Mechanical Engineer with over 30 years of experience.

He inspected the engine very carefully, from top to bottom. After seeing everything, the engineer unloaded his bag and pulled out a small hammer. He knocked something gently. Soon, the engine came to life again. The engine has been fixed!

A week later the engineer mentioned to the ship owner that the total cost of repairing the giant ship was $20,000.
                "What?!" said the owner.
"You did almost nothing. Give us a detailed bill."

                The answer is simple:
                Tap with a hammer: $2
Know where to knock and how much to knock: $19,998

The importance of appreciating one's expertise and experience...because those are the results of struggles, experiments and even tears.

This is not funny, but I can relate as a musician. Employers have no idea of the travel time, set-up and tear-down time that's part of your appearance. And, of course, cannt imagine paying you for that.

I'm not the most tech savvy person in the world, here, but am able do some things the average person may not have a clue how to do.
The texting, though, can be tricky, at times. All the short hand stuff, just letters, no words. Why so lazy?
Anyway, I see IDK once in a while, and here’s the thing- I have been asking lots of my friends what it means, and everyone's saying the same answer! “I don’t know”.

Seems to me that if almost no one knows what it means then it shouldn’t be used so readily. That’s all.

Some things Yogi Berra said. I’m pretty sure.

Driving to the baseball Hall of Fame with Whitey Ford:
Whitey: hey, Yogi, I think we’re lost!
Yogi: I know, but we’re making good time!

When giving directions to his house:
“When you come to the fork in the road, take it.”

Getting a small pizza for himself, he’s asked how many slices he wants the pie cut into, four, or six?
“ better make it four” Yogi says, “I don’t think I can eat six pieces”

“ Nobody goes to that place anymore. It’s too crowded”
