glad there's no fighting here

I absolutely hated the fighting in Trumpet Herald and in Trumpet Master.
Long-time members who acted like bullies year after year.
Moderators who let them get away with it.
Moderators banning the victims rather than the bullies.
But this new forum is a pleasant environment full of nice people.
Thank you !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Moshe...
I so agree with you. I really get the feeling with the dynamics that this administrator has created that this site supports a highly functional family.
I have also observed that differences of opinion are discussed and conveyed in such absolute respect that others; reading such differences actually learn from the professionalism of the debate.
Many kudos for the Administrator. It is well appreciated!

On a serious basis: Fighting is another way of expressing interest, even sometimes of feeling within a family. For me at least, the lack of impassioned discussion with all its proliferations means that so far, there is no feeling "I'm at home here". It's like being in the entrance hall of a posh hotel - not even a rock star would seriously misbehave there. The damage is done in the privacy of the room...

1.Showing the world just how much the person knows by making the other person look intellectually small.
2.They lack knowledge on the topic so they'll use fighting to muddy the conversation.
3.Fighting can be used as a distraction from the topic
4.Some fight because it needs to be their way or the highway
5.Some fight because from their perspective they other person is dead wrong
6.Some fight because that is all they know when an obstacle is placed in front of them such as an opposing view.
A conversation can have passionate sides but fighting is a technique and it was used a lot at TM and TH -
I am right about everything
and those who disagree with me are wrong,
but I do not lash out at them.I simply offer them condescending pity
and say,
"There but for the grace of God go I"...:^) ^:) :^) :^) :^)

You can't fight in here. This is the War Room. (some will know )

There is nothing wrong with disagreeing with others, but it has always been my belief that it should be done with respect. After all, everyone is entitled to their opinion. The attitude here is mostly a civil one, and that is a good thing.

We are almost to 200 users. I suspect when we get the 40k+ that TH has, we might see a few more issues. Nevertheless, I already have an edge on them simply because I use software newer than 2005.

Your title is "global moderator"?
Even the President of the United States
is not responsible for the entire globe.Or is "globe" a euphemism for testicles
and you just tell men to turn their heads and cough?Morris / moshe
