Torpedo Cases
-
These are some of the most protective and yet eye appealing cases on the market. I have a family of cases, and am starting with the Outlaw Loredo, this one in gun metal black with the mute bag and the music pouch side bag. The Outlaw Lorado I have in brown is my travel choice as the Outlaw series fits in the overhead bins of the peddle jumpers I have to take out of Dayton to get to larger airline hubs.

This is my remaining family of bags with the larger being the three horn bags with an extended top for larger bell fluglehorns, such as my Getzen and Kanstul. The large black bag is in nylon (it is my workhorse bag), the brown is in leather. In this picture the single horn on the left is another Outlaw Loredo, and the single horn case on the right is the Loredo. The Loredo is a slightly larger version than it's Outlaw cousin:

I have a nylon triple that is my go to - 99% of my gigs require a flugel, and the large lid fits my Adams F2 beautifully. I also have a leather Outlaw and a nylon classic. If I just need a trumpet I’ll usually use the outlaw. Great cases! I’ve been using mine for years and they barely show a scuff, and I have travelled with them a lot!

Yes same for me. My nylon black triple goes with me with the quintet in our band bus whenever we travel as I need to use the flugel and trumpet as well. When I fly, I bit the bullet and only take single horn Loredo as it fits into any overhead bin. And yes while the nylon is indestructible, the leather is nearly perfect without scuffs and I fly with it at least 4 times a year.

I also use a brown leather Laredo, but without the extra pouches. I have a separate bag for all the extra junk we need to haul around.
-
I used to have a triple, and it was a fine case.

I've got a nylon Outlaw that was issued by the National Guard band, and I use that case a lot - it's just a great design - well made and very very protective of the horn inside of it.
One day if I ever get the notion, I might splurge and buy myself a Torpedo case in leather.

I'll be bringing mine brown Outlaw Loredo when I come to visit the first weekend in May!

I have a basic Peacemaker Torpedo case. I am sure there is no more protective case available. The only thing I will note is that you have to grab the bell of your horn and pull it out of the case, which tightly cradles your precious instrument. I actually indented the large 5.5” bell on my custom Adams A4 LT-S with my fingers by grabbing the flare instead of the bell bead wire. When I ordered that bespoked axe, I wanted my design or fingerprint on it, but leaving finger marks in the bell was not what I had in mind. I consider this operator error, certainly not Torpedo’s problem, but just wanted to note that you need to be thoughtful grabbing a horn with a wide or thin bell. Lesson learned.

The only case i use on a gig, here is mine with my Eclipse Solar Bell and the things I carry with it.
