We played our first gig today. It was at a farmers market, with these venues operating as essential services, albeit with some restrictions. We performed as a piano/bass duo. The market was pretty well attended, considering it was the day after the 4th of July. Masks and social distancing were in place. Everybody was friendly, happy to be out, and happy to be hearing some live music. We jokingly called our band The Social Dissonance. 😉

It's in our book, but we didn't play it. But on request, we played the Baby Elephant Walk, which my bass player said is proof that we'll do anything for tips. 😉 😉

I'm grateful just to get out of the house, sometimes. Yesterday, I was bogged down with stress and some buddies invited me to go fishing. Didn't catch anything, but it was such a relief to just leave the house for one hour.

We had our second paid gig earlier today, at another farmers market. Today's event was bigger, with lots more people. This time, we were a piano/bass/flute trio, with me on piano. Social distancing was observed and masks were in place. Everyone did a great job to make the event safe and fun.

                        Looks good.

I'm still burned that, yesterday, some old woman had a question and stuck her unmasked face about one foot into mine and kept touching me on my shoulder and hand. I guess some of these people think they don't have much time left, so it doesn't matter much, but I do and it matters to me.

                        BTW, how was the temperature?

@administrator Fishing has nothing to do with catching! Especially when these days we are going out of our way to not catch something!

It was hot. We were under a canopy. But the heat really takes something out of you.

Yes, it has been 100+ around here and my motivation seems to be inversely proportional to the temperature as of late.

It was 97.8... I will leave it up to you as to what part of his body was measured to get to this reading.
