A Trumpet Cover I Did. Would love some tips/advice!

Hello everyone,

I have been playing trumpet for seven years now, so keep in mind that I am still an amateur, but I posted a video I did for a school project on YouTube and was wondering if you all could give some tips or advice on how to improve my videos going forward, and to possibly spread the word about this video as well. First I'd like to say your creation is really neat! Rough around the edges but neat.
Here's what I heard and some suggestions that can make your piece better;

Intonation, Intonation, Intonation. It's easy to get lost in the sound and give more creedence to the note and not to how in tune it is. Close is not good enough when it comes to being in tune. The human ear can hear off pitch when it's just a few cents off.
Be sure to use your slides and ears!
Don't slide into the notes. Everything that pertains to the slide will be out of tune until you get to the note.
3.Starting and stopping together is important!! Please listen to Matt Harloff and Carolina Crown. A good video is Carolina Crown Drops the Hammer or Carolina Crown Unleashes the Beast. You will hear what it sounds like to start and stop as a group in unison.
4.There should be great responsibility placed on starting and stopping notes themselves. Start your note with pure sound and stop the note appropriately. Be mindful of how you start and stop your notes. Not adhering to this will make your creation sound jagged and unprofessional.
Be sure to hear the horn in the room and not so much in your head. The room is very much a part of what you're doing. Does the room echo? Is it dry? ect..

I feel that what you've done is really swell! It just needs some polish. Hopefully you are not a thin skinned musician who is easily offended (many are unfortunately) because those musicians usually never make it and I personally fine them a pain in the ass. Keep up the wonderful work. I think you have something worth pursuing.

Most of the constructive criticisms I would have made, are the same as Dr. Mark's. Pay attention to balance. Also, I can't tell sometimes what's the lead. I would also work on entrances and releases. They need to be together. And I question some of the voicings and harmonies. Where did you get them?

Music is the original Never Ending Story. It can be frustrating because you never seem to get where you want to be. Satisfying because of the challenges and the incremental advances. And above all, for the creativity.

Keep creating, it'll keep getting better and will be rewarding as you increase. Keep it up.

Don't sweat any negative, but constructive, criticism.

Agree. Intonation needs to be improved. Also, if there is a way to sync timing, that would be vital as there is a bit of a muddy quality to the mix.

Not much to add. Keep listening to your video and make mental notes (maybe even written ones) about what you hear and what you need to do to clean things up. The important thing to do always is to listen. I don't think you're far from whipping it into shape. With thought and practice, you'll succeed. For inspiration, listen to Jacob Collier. His comments can be helpful, too.

My guess is a single chamber cardiac pacer for standard rhythms and a duel chamber biventricular for resynchronization.
