I hope this isn’t too soon to share another one. This is from a reference photo from New Jersey, so I felt like it was relatable to me in that it’s my turf, and I am familiar with the area. Near Califon, New Jersey. Same county as I reside.

Better than any Super Bowl rendition in recent years.
You didn’t have to dig very deep to come up with that compliment..just saying.
Pulling cats' tails and coming up with the notes would also qualify as better than some I have agonized over. -
RE: I always knew Trombones were frightening instruments
@barliman2001
Our community band did a lot of outdoor night concerts at a train station. No trains stopped there anymore, but many freight trains would randomly pass. Our trombone section picked out the notes for a perfect train whistle whenever one was coming. It was the best thing they ever did. More or less. -

I might mention that the worse the player, the more success can be expected in removing bears.
I also might not ever told anyone here, I started on trombone in 4th grade. Since I was small for my age, though, not all the slide positions were available to my very short arms. -

@ssmith1226
Bears are not the only species reported to have run for their lives from trombones. Just saying. -

@georgeb
I don’t think I was attempting anything specific, except to say that in a way, every painting I try something different and new. The fact is that I try to make every painting better than the previous painting!
Also, the reference photo is so critical, and if it is great, my chances are better of making a better painting. -

Happy for you, George! Keep it up, now! -

@bigdub I tried to play this but got the message you are potentially dangerous and risky so my security would not allow me to play. I guess my question is... Are You?
to you? nah. Unless the playing causes permanent hearing damage, then, well..........

It played OK for me, Wayne.
Woweee !!! some great mixing there. You must have a neat recording set-up.
And it sounds like the Glen Miller arrangement. The trumpet solo was right on.
Loved it, buddy.
GeorgeThanks a lot, George! It is really not a terribly technical set up. The thing is I have been messing around with GarageBand for some time and by looking at tutorials on YouTube and trial and error on my part I have been able to work out a lot of kinks. I have a fairly good mic.
I incorporate MuseScore which enables me to export mp3 files for parts that I can’t easily duplicate, like tuba, or piano, and drums, but sometimes I do my own drums and bass as well. I make these recordings from my living room couch. That is no lie! -

Thanks Ah, I will send you an email invite. I was afraid that might happen.
Did anyone else try to listen and couldn’t get it to play? Let me know and I will try to fix it. Or else put it on SoundCloud. It isn’t a copyright issue I don’t think.

RE: Hetman. What's up?
I met Joe Hetman when he came and played a concert with my community band as a sub. I had only a brief conversation about his oil and said I would be interested in getting some from him. That was it. No further contact. One of our next gigs, another trumpet player drops a brown paper bag down on my lap, saying his friend Joe Hetman wanted you to have this. A bottle of valve oil, ( the correct number that I needed, by the way) a bottle of slide oil, and a bottle of slide grease.
All this, having only had that one conversation with me.
Nice guy, but not the end of the story. Later on, at a Chris Botti concert in New Brunswick, as I was leaving, someone says, “hey, Wayne, how are you doing?” And when he sees my blank look, says, “ Joe, Joe Hetman” I tried to quickly recover, and apologized profusely for forgetting who he was, but it had been a couple of years, after all.
Imagine that? He must have some memory, and that is why I think he is a genuinely great guy. I do like his valve oil regardless of that fact. -

Watching you do that painting brought back memories of when I used to play around with watercolors. If there are any other artist members here they will learn a lot watching that video.
By the way, GREAT PAINTING !
GeorgeThank you George! And thanks for watching. I appreciate that you did.

RE: We are Number 1!
Well, I must be the number one driver in NJ as indicated by the single finger raised in my direction. What else could it be?
