      @Dr-GO
Doing that cruise painting was equivalent to having a blind person describe what it looked like and having to paint it blindfolded…….
Well, not quite, but the challenge was very big!

@Dr-GO you may be surprised to hear you are way off on that figure, Doc!
I count at least 7 you have had me do. ANNNNNND I am very grateful for it, too. ( In no particular order..)

Saw this farm a couple of weeks ago. I have seen it probably a hundred times, but this time I saw it differently. Stopped on the side of the road and took several pics. And here’s what I came up with. Hopewell, NJ farm. IMG_4496.jpeg

@BigDub Do you market your art? Do you exhibit?

All I do is the following. Website: https://fineartamerica.com/profiles/waynemathisenstudio
      FaceBook Wayne Mathisen
And an occasional local show. Not often enough.
So not too much marketing involved here.

This is a departure from my usual subject matter, but just the same, I love this subject. I shied away from this because I didn’t want to fall on my face. This is a result of much planning and plotting. 5 or more reference scenes, and completely made up background setting. I took longer to do this than usual but I think I am happy I did. Early on I was not planning to show this to anyone, but saw some potential and thought you’d like to see it.IMG_4467.jpeg

@administrator never mind the “like this”, I would say I have never heard a Kuhlohorn, period. That may change soon. When I listen to it my first time.

This was inspired by my neighborhood walks. This tree is right down the next street from me, so, with some changes, here it is IMG_3928.jpeg

I painted this in response to the way the sky looks on a crisp winter night just at the tail end of sunset. This is my own backyard view in central NJ. Early morning isn’t bad either!

    • RE: Half Time

It’s hard to imagine the organizers of the Super Bowl Half time can be so out of touch with what seems to be the taste of more than half of the audience. There must be a percentage of people that somehow…..enjoy it? Hard to figure, no?

A blonde gets lost while driving in a raging blizzard. At first she panics, but then remembered her father’s advice: just get behind the snowplow and follow it.
She spots one and immediately starts to follow. She’s doing just fine and after 45 minutes the plow driver gets out and walks to her driver’s side, says, I’m done plowing the Walmart parking lot. Would you like to follow me to Best Buy now?

    • Military Band you would like to hear

My wife and I went to see the US Navy Jazz Band, The Commodores, this past Sunday at the State Theatre in New Brunswick, NJ. I was a free concert, too. I would have paid a lot more to see them. They were amazingly good! The photo is advertising their upcoming events in my area. One of the best comcerrts I have been to in a long time!

I am playing the trumpet, too. I just wanted to make that clear, in case anyone was wondering. But here is a new one inspired by a photo from a friend in Spring City, Tennessee. This is the Piney River. I am happy with this result.IMG_3489.jpeg

Here is my most recent one. This is ten minutes from my home in NJ.
That’s right, NJ. The Church was started in 1752. In my area there was a very heavy Dutch influence. Anyway, this is Neshanic ( Dutch Reformed ) Church and it has been ver well maintained over the years. The way I have painted it depicts our present time, FYI. IMG_4003.jpeg
