@BigDub The cat is purring and today I had a pair of bald eagles circling overhead. I have a very diverse audience here: three horses, two dogs, a cat, half a dozen black tail deer and the eagles which I see have a nest in a tall cedar just to the North of the house.
Nice place. Real "Alaska" style. I couldn't afford the maintenance. We are care-taking while the owner is out commercial fishing. We had the privilege to visit Alaska in 2016. Saw some amazing wildlife including many Bald Eagles. Believe it or not we have Bald Eagles right here in central NJ, and have seen them with our own eyes. We even have black bear, coyotes, foxes, raccoons, skunks, and an over abundance of white tailed deer. When I was a kid living in the same general area, deer were a novelty to see. Now, we chase them out of our back yard with a few yells and claps. Sometimes they just stare like we're from Mars.

SoundCloud recording
In case you would be interested, here is a recording I downloaded on SoundCloud. All parts are generated by myself, there were 8 parts. Two were digital keyboard for percussion and bass line. The rest me on trumpet. The very low sounding I transposed down an octave with GarageBand. 5 of the parts were also notated by me..( or ad libbed )

RE: A little humour
There’s something very peculiar about the eye doctor's methods of figuring out what prescription to give me.
I have to decide everything. "Which is more clear, number one, or two?
Two.
"How about, three, or four?".
Uh, seems like three?
"How about one, verses three?"
Hmmm, now could I see three verses two?
"No, it doesn’t work that way".
Ok, then let me see two again.
"There you go."
So after about 50 scenarios, we have determined just what is best for my eyes.
I never felt less sure of a decision. Yet here I sit with the glasses they came up with for me, based on my opinions only....... -

You're not well-mannered. It's called passive-aggressive.
Sometimes, musicians may become incontinent of urine, especially when playing high notes, loudly. I call that pissive-agressive.
It’s nice to have a qualified medical professional amongst us.

RE: Artist on BOARD
This one, a coastal scene from northern California, (from a fine photo given me by my son in law), was done as a demo for my FaceBook Page, taking the viewer through the process from beginning to end. I awarded it to a member who won a contest involving sharing my page.....she was ecstatic!

Here is one from the Northwest Coast of California. Photo provided by my son in law.. Redwood National Park, I believe. His goal is to visit every national park he possibly can.

I personally don't paint by numbers. I use braille. Interesting thing is the finished version has a lot of texture to it.
As long as you don’t do surgery that way

RE: Artist on BOARD
A recent commission for a fellow band member. The painting is of the carriage house from 1832 of a historic home in PA. The owners of the home cannot paint it any color they want but must adhere to the historic requirements and guidelines. The town they live in is the named after the builder of the house, as well as originator of the town.

Hi Tobylou8,
Something a lot of people don't realize;
You don't need a parachute to skydive.
You need a parachute to skydive twice! And, furthermore, people can survive a fall from many thousands of feet. It’s the sudden stop at the end that seems to be the problem.

here is another one. This is THE most often photographed place in the State if New Jersey, BTW. Most everyone who sees my painting in person will know right away what it is

RE: Artist on BOARD
I probably have posted this one in the past, but not on this site.......
this is known locally as the Bridge Tender's Station. Actually it is a former switch tender's house from the Penn.RR.
They purchased the Delaware and Raritan Canal in the early 1930's and pretty much put the canal out of business simultaneously. I was able to learn this from my friend who had his little shop and art studio right across the street from this. -
RE: A little humour
I asked my friend what’s the difference between a loaf of bread and an elephant. He said, haha, I don’t know.
I said, remind me not to send you to the grocery store for anything. -
RE: A little humour
I know how to get exercise without leaving my chair, and let me tell you, I am worn out just telling you.
First I was told I was sawing wood for a while, then I jogged my memory, ran my mouth, jumped to conclusions, laid down the law and stood on my principles. Now I am exhausted. I will repeat this pattern often. -
RE: Artist on BOARD
Here is a commission once again, for a fellow TrumpetBoards member. His input was very much in play for how I did this one. I enjoyed working with him and I appreciated his open mindedness to the ideas I shared while working on it. Amazing that in this age of technology we could accomplish this without ever even meeting face to face.

RE: Artist on BOARD
This is going to be a big one. These are all the commissioned paintings I did for Dr. GO, AKA gmonady, from another life. He has been very good to support me in my artwork. A little background, here. Not all the paintings were from supplied photos from the Doc. The Farm has a great story. That was my photo, the covered bridge was from my own photo, and the moonlit ocean scene was kind of dreamed up.....from what he described to me of what he wanted...here we go. ![001BC428-E17F-4D1F-A55B7DC35FDCB21C.jpeg(/assets/uploads/files/1568996604706-001bc428-e17f-4d1f-a55b-7dc35fdcb21c.jpeg)
