I try to constantly work to learn something new on every new painting I do. Always finding someon else’s art to learn from as well . .
Then 'bout time to absorb some Jackson Pollock into your pastoral scenes.
Big Bub, those snow, rustic scenes are wonderful. Never stop.
Thanks a lot. I already have done some Jackson Pollock work.
Piece of canvas, laid on the floor, do some painting work with lots of spills and colors, and presto! I have a Jackson Pollock! -

But be careful not to drink too much. I once did a water color after consuming several ounces of Jack Daniels and well...what a royal mess....
I did learn not to set a coffee mug down next to my water can……
That’s the strongest thing I drink! -

Did another one already. This one from Maine, where the Pemaquid Lighthouse is located….I didn’t do the lighthouse. Yet.

Me, too, George! That was the whole inspiration for that painting. That wonderful boat! -

Better than any Super Bowl rendition in recent years.
You didn’t have to dig very deep to come up with that compliment..just saying.
Pulling cats' tails and coming up with the notes would also qualify as better than some I have agonized over. -

Several years ago, I commissioned Wayne (BigDub) to paint this portrait of my dog Emily.
I am so rewarded by his excellent work, as now, this portrait serves as providing the fondest memory of this lovely spirit, as I had to put Emily down today do to progressive deterioration from a stoke she had last April. This picture is how I remember her. Wayne truly caught her personality in her eyes. Thank you Wayne!
So sorry to hear that, Doc. And I am humbled to hear those kind sentiments from you. It was truly a pleasure to paint her likeness and glad you will have that memory for years to come.

My son's father is your father's only child. What relative of yours am I?
Is that you, Pa?

Can't for the life of me figure out why this USED Bach Mt Vernon 3c Mouthpiece hasn’t been snatched up yet. Free shipping, too. And notice you can get a 1 yr protection plan for only $59.99. We all know how a mouthpiece can cost lots for repairs and upkeep.

RE: A little humour
I just wanted to proclaim myself safe from Camp LeJeune unsafe drinking water.
You can all rest assured now, I'm fine. -
RE: How many is too many?
How easy was it to get those descriptions off the nice hardwood floor?
Were they permanent or eraseable? -
RE: A little humour
A lot of people make fun of the state I live in. People from 49 states, to be exact….but recently I found out that New Jersey just missed making one of the top 12 states in the US. Here is proof.

RE: Another one
@georgeb
Just to clarify, I never saw the dog. Alive, or in person. Ever. Just one snapshot from the friend who asked me to do it.
Fortunately for me, it was a good photograph, and what she wanted me to use. But thanks just the same, George. I always appreciate your kind words. -
RE: Artist on BOARD
@georgeb love and appreciate the enthusiasm, but I think they only count people once. Just like our posts here. Can’t like them more than once from any one source.

Look at a Monet and simultaneously listen to Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun and you can intuit it.
I almost never paint without music ( my own very diverse ) playlist playing in the background. Not loud at all, just enough so I can hear it.
It would feel awkward to paint in silence.
Interesting about your instructor, too, Kehaulani. I think you mentioned it before, and I thought the same thing.
