The New Reality

I was recently asked to participate in a pops/patriotic brass band concert as part of a Monday night concert series in a local park on July 6. No rehearsal, band members seated 6’+ apart. Should be interesting if it actually happens.
That said, I haven’t been motivated to practice much during the past few months of shutdown, so now I’m playing catchup to get back into shape by then. Second cornet, so that will be a little easier...
Pic from a previous concert - that’s mine on the left.

Similar situation here. I have 2 gigs so far scheduled for July 5th and 12th. Both are outdoors. It's easy for us to "socially distance", since my band is pretty small. First gig will be a piano/bass duo, with me on piano. The other will be trumpet/guitar/bass trio, with me on trumpet. I also run an open jazz jam, which may resume at the end of July, but more likely will resume in August.

I find taking my shoes off guarantees there will be social distancing!

Adding. a “Plant Based Diet” to that will give you at least a 12 foot radius of clearance.

Well our 34 member band will resume weekly practice sessions next week, but only when they can be held in an outdoor setting. Only half the members are returning, and there will be no planned concerts for the time being. But I will be playing with others again and that's all that matters to me right now.

“JERUSALEM (JTA) — A suspected cyberattack disrupted a live virtual gala held by the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, making it impossible to view for most of the 13,000 people worldwide who had registered.
The Sunday afternoon attack on the fundraiser, which was trying to help the orchestra overcome losses due to COVID-19, crashed the websites of the orchestra and its gala partner, Medici.TV.”

That's frustrating. At least it was a "cyber-attack" and not a real attack.

Just because...

Thanks, Steve, that was so sweet. The future of music is in great hands.
