you might need a 2nd Harmon/Bubble mute for that Committee ... because adjusting the cork fit it will make the fit totally different on the Recording.

I agree. I have 2 Harmon mutes, one for my Committee and one for my Olds trumpets, with different cork thicknesses for this same reason.

@Kehaulani Awesome!! I’ve been playing Trent’s MV3C* as my all-around mpc for about 7yrs now - good fit for me. I’ve switched my lead mpc a couple of times but have settled on the MV3L.

            Daily players: Adams A1, A4LT, F2 flugel , CN1 cornet.

              Isn't that what I said?

Did you say that? I never saw it ... sorry.

As far as ‘the one’, my Adams A4 LT-S is that to me. Ordered with the A4’s 5.5” bell in red brass (the LT comes with a 5” bell), this trumpet plays better for me than anything I’ve ever had the privilege of playing. My Marcinkiewicz is also a superb player, but the tighter wrap bothers my hands on long gigs, making the overall experience less than perfect once the gig goes beyond 2 hours. Just thankful to have some really great axes to enjoy!

Yup. That’s the only solution. My Miyashiro is at Yamaha having the lead pipe replaced. I don’t recall the Jo-Ral having fitment problems with it, but I’ll wait until it’s back to make a decision about which Harmon mute to get. I’m curious about the Soulo mutes that Wayne plays, but having a Harmon mute that fits a Committee is not a nice to have, it’s a NEED TO HAVE.

I'm resigned to the same approach. I'm curious what kind of harmons you're using and how deeply the one for the Committee fits in the bell. Again, mine is so far in it makes the horn extremely stuffy. That mute is the Jo-Ral as you can see in the photo above. I'm going to add another thin layer of cork to see if I can open it up a little and will use another harmon (I ordered one from Soulo) with my Miyashiro.

I took my mute and the Committee to my horn tech today and in less than 30 minutes he cut and glued another layer of cork on to the mute. It now has enough "standoff" or gap and the horn blows much more freely and sounds better. Problem solved.

It's part of my relaxed mood presentation. With the Harrelson, one can relax, sit back and those notes still come out strong and focused!🤣

I could, but then I would no longer be able to see the notes on the music stand. It's hell getting old. Also note the stand is skewed so as to place the notes on the right side closer to my left eye (where I am near sighted) and the left side further off to my left eye gaze where I am farsighted. Over all this positioning compensates well for my deficits.

Yeah, and lose the moustache. It stiffens your upper lip.

                                          Actually, it tickles my nose!

                                          That's probably not all.

As for the instruments I own, “the one” is my 1962 Conn 9A Victor cornet. I looked for a nice one of these for years and finally found one. Beautiful sound, easy upper register, a powerful instrument. Huge .484” bore, Coprion bell and leadpipe, was made only a couple years.
