Gold Plated Mint Calicchio For Sale
-
WOW! Check out this baby! Absolutely gorgeous Calicchio 1S7 75th anniversary trumpet. This is positively the finest Calicchio trumpet available today anywhere in the world. It has a factory gold plating that is 99.9%. There is not a single scratch or ding anywhere on the instrument. There haven’t been any repairs on the instrument. I acquired the horn recently, and I’m guessing that it was rarely if ever used. The 75th anniversary trumpets date to 2003. The instrument plays beautifully in all registers with exceptional intonation. You will not find anything like this anywhere else.
Compare prices for similar horns. There is a silver plated Calicchio being sold right now on Ebay for $6000, and this instrument is located in Japan. Gold plating is far more expensive. There is also a gold plated Calicchio trumpet on this site which is currently in Poland for a similar price. Based on the description, it does not appear to be anywhere near this condition.
As far as mechanics, the valves are the smoothest I’ve ever seen. All slides move freely. The horn has two traditional water keys. The horn appears to have been preserved in a museum (which is where it might go eventually!). I am selling the trumpet with no case and no mouthpiece. If you need a case, I’m happy to toss in a Protec gig bag (pictured) also in brand new condition for a modest cost.
I have bought and sold several instruments on Ebay, Facebook, and Reverb. I am very familiar with proper packing and shipping. If you’re interested in a Calicchio don’t let this one get away. You will never find it’s like again. -
@flugler Quoting us a price from Japan is very unrealistic as the market there is primarily for collectors - not players. Everywhere else in the world, people are looking for deals. 6 grand+ gets me a Monette or a Martin - both certainly in a different league than the Calicchio. Maybe I have not been paying attention here at TrumpetBoards, but I do not know of anyone here in that "more money than common sense" market.
The price is fine for Japan. That type of money here would be banking on the price going up. I do not see that happening. Calicchios reputation at the time was value for the price and Dominics service.By the way, this is the wrong place for your post. It belongs in the classifieds section.
