Looking to replace my trusty Pro-tec mouthpiece pouch. Need something that:

      • holds 4 trumpet mouthpieces (and can fit a trombone piece occasionally)
      • doesn’t look garish on stage (so black or brown are preferred)
      • preferably leather

The pro-tec is synthetic leather and held up for ~10 years. I’m hoping a leather pouch can last until I retire.

Anything like this on the market?

      Yamaha YTR-8335G
      Monke Bb trumpet
      Carol Brass flugelhorn
      YTR-6810 piccolo
      Burbank Eb/D
Various antique cornets & horns in various keys

Torpedo Cases sells mouthpiece cases. I have a 4 piece pouch. It holds 2 Harrelson 5m mouthpieces with no problems.

If you buy a Torpedo Bag, you can get the mouthpiece holders laced into the strap:

That's exactly the product I have now. I have loved it and used it for 11 years until it started to flake recently. I just found the receipt.

Clearly it's not leather, despite the product headline, and it didn't last the way I expected real leather to last. Of course, it's priced way below what a hand-made product would cost, but still at $31 from an otherwise reputable brand, I would expect them to use the advertised materials. I'm very disappointed.

Here is what it looks like today - let me know if you think that looks like leather! (The black top layer, which is flaking off, is some rubbery polymer, the light-grey middle layer is some foam, and the darker-grey bottom layer is clearly woven fabric.)

                      case

The product as named on the receipt is "Protec L-221 Leather Mouthpiece Pouch - fits four trumpet
mouthpieces, quality design and protection, includes belt
                      loops and exterior pockets.
                      Price: 24.90 EUR"

Unless Thomann were selling counterfeit PT products in 2010, I'm not going to trust that brand with my money again.

Thanks to everyone who recommended products so far, I'm considering "moving up" to a Great Leather 5-pack even though I've never needed more than 4 so far.

The Torpedo 4-pack looks nice but impractical - I wouldn't see which MP is in which compartment which is a non-starter for me.

The PT 4x or the Great Leather 5 pack both allow me to open the case, sitting on the floor or a table, and see them all.

@jolter The quality of the leather on my Great Leather cases has to be felt to be truly appreciated. Very soft and luxuriant. I also like having my name on them. Avoids mixups. I think you will be very happy.

Look at the 4 pack picture closely. One button is silver the remainder are black. That is how you can locate the mouthpiece in the sequence in which you store them related to the one button color different from the other. Simple concept but it works.

In addition, my Torpedo 4 pack is now 10 years old and looks the same as the day I first received it. In other words it is real leather.

Torpedo bags are expensive, especially in leather, but their quality is well worth the price. They also come in nylon that is more economical.

And with all the convenience options (such as mouth piece holders built into the strap) Torpedo bags are well engineered. I particularly like the mute bag they make that attaches to the main bag. It gives me immediate access and with my double case bag when placed upright, eliminates the need for me to have a mute stand.

One time, I went to a thrift shop and bought a small, used "lady's purse." I then proceeded to fill it with felt and other padding. It worked very well as a mouthpiece "pouch."
