I won't be bored by band suspension

The one thing I love to do is play the old standards. I haven't had a lot of extra time to do that up until now because the band's MD had been introducing a lot of new material for many upcoming spring and summer concerts. So now I am getting back at playing the kind of material I really love the most. Here is a short list of some of the songs I will be performing over the next few days. I loved just turning on the computer and playing through a number of tunes using Band in a Box. Total control. You can speed it up or slow it down, while staying in the same key. Or you can change keys if you want. And a huge choice of tunes.

I used to use Band in a Box, but have been enjoying iReal Pro app the last few years. Much more user friendly, easy to set up on phone or tablet, and easy to download tons of charts or make your own. Easily transposes to other key signatures, and easy to set up time or even which instruments you want in the mix. I’ve used it on iPad with a Bluetooth speaker for a room full of kids with no problems, and on my own regularly.

I've been using the same long tone exercise as a warm up for my afternoon tune session ever since I started by comeback around this time in 2016. They only take about 5 minutes. Boring, yes, but I treat them as a necessity in helping me keep my tone the way I like it.

You could mix it up with "moving long tones", like Cicowitcz' "Long Tones".

I know so many of those songs that you posted! Maybe (if you feel up to it) you could take a whack at "Vehicle" by the Ides of March. Remember this hit song from 1970? Everybody in HS Jazz Band has played this ever since!

I have the hard copies of the Books (three editions). I have noticed discrepancies in the keys. I will often play the lead sheets from my hard copies only to find the the chord changes on the computer
and even the tonalities are completely different in the computer play back. I have adjusted the tonality - but then i find the chord changes are different. Years ago when i first started using the service - i did not have this problem. Is there something i am missing.?Schilke x3

@fels they are just using reharmonizations. Some of the changes in the older editions of the real books are actually ukulele chords, so they have been modernized over time. If you don’t like them you can go into the file and change it.
Also, what you are downloading has been created by a bunch of different users, so it’s not one version copied from real books. It also depends which real book or chart they are going by, I suppose. I have created a bunch for my own use from charts I have that are not in any of the downloadable files - super easy to do, and easy to modify.Daily players: Adams A1, A4LT, F2 flugel , CN1 cornet.

It was often assumed that the ukulele would be played in a group with piano. So, with only four notes available to it, the arrangers would write the ukulele part playing the middle and upper extension notes of a chord.
So, for example, when the actual chord was a C Maj9, (C-E-G-B-D), the ukulele part would be E-G-B-D, but the actual chord would not be an E minor chord, it would be a C Maj9 with the root (C) being supplied by the piano (or bass player).
Dick Grove called this "bringing the chord up to zero".
