      ACB

Today's the big day at ACB-KC with Miel Adams! Please come on over, hang out, play some incredible horns, hang for the concert/jam, and have some fun with us!

We are excited to show anyone who hasn't been to ACB the digs!

Concert at 5:30 will be with these killer musicians:

      Matt Villinger: Keys
      Jason Emmond: Bass
      Brian Steever: Percussion

We'll play a couple tunes and then open it up for a jam as well!

Outstanding. And Brenda Flowers definitely has got an Ella Fitzgerald vibe going on. A hint, at least.

I play in a quintet. The other four members play in a wind ensemble in the mountains west of us.. the conductor wanted to have a doubt brass quintet for a big 4th event that included multiple groups. OK. I drove 60 minutes to play 20 minutes of sight reading pieces (although i rehearsed them in my studio). Tempos were rushed. Everyone wanted to leave - big crowd but late -- hour drive home. Good Faith and support. Otherwise -- meh.

I thought I had suggested this before but :Groundhog Day:

I will post a new thread (In the appropriate spot) about Community Bands. There are lots of pros and semi-pros posting here. I think the CB group could benefit by some feedback from others who are not former pros or semi pros but just want to play but may be frustrated by the traditional (social) Community Band structure. My view (Like GeorgeB) is the if you are a serious player, albeit a recreational player, you are limited by the expectations of the the preponderance of the Community Band. Namely, socialization, lack of practice etc.experience.

Boy, arranging music from a variety of original scorings is just great. Let us know when you post another video. I'd love to hear it/them.

Man, if I had a dollar for every time I played that. My first pay gigs were dances and some combo jazz. But I started playing in a "Soul Band" in the mid-sixties with Soul Man, Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay, Mustang Sally etc. Great music and great fun. Enjoy.

Thanks! They found it early and got clean margins, so that should be all. They had to take a skin graft from my leg, though, and my leg is killing me. This too shall pass…

Maybe not New Years Eve, but close. If you are in Dayton and looking for a relaxing evening to recover from the New Years Eve Partying, come on by tomorrow evening in Dayton's Historic Arcade!
