We will see how trade negotiations go and if the $280 Strad stays at $280. My guess is that brass instruments aren't high on the list.

Lets not lose sight of the ACB video that was talking about counterfeit Strads. I'm sure Conn-Selmer should have a right to protect their brand from criminals.

I bought a bunch of horns trying to find "the one" since I had been playing my Getzen 900H since Jr. high school. There were many that were close, including a first run Severinsen that is a very fine player and a Holton ST-302 that has a big sound but just isn't quite there for me. I've even played a high dollar horn, it was nice, but that's all. The "one" that supplanted my 900H was another 900H only in large bore. If you can make an offer with a price that is more to your liking, I'd go for it. You can't have too many horns and it is nice to pull them out for others to play and watch them drool!

The average Chinese worker in manufacturing made > $10,500 in 2018. In 2010 it was>$4500. That is what manufacturers have to deal with when they pay employees a decent living wage. If the Chinese work a 40 hr. week, in 2010 that was >$2.35 an hour. In 2018, that's up to about >$5.25 an hour. China uses cheap, dare I sat "slave" labor working in real sweatshops to make these reverse engineered horns. It's not just horns too. It's hard to compete when the most expensive part of a product is labor. If China reverse engineers a Monette, you might be able to get one for > $1000! Here's to unfair trade and labor practices!

@mike-ansberry It's not like the Severinsen Eterna Model, made specifically "for" Doc. Bobby Herriot was famous for playing a tilted bell LeBlanc (?) and Doc turned him to Getzen. Doc got his name on his model. Bobby only got an "H" after the 900 on his. Sadly, he just past away in January.
