      Notice the mix of makers as far as component parts on some of these examples.

      When it comes to Muck, I wouldn't rule anything out. Like Rolls-Royce, what started out crafted in-house with some sub-assemblies supplied transitioned over time into a brand/company that was nothing but production coordination - no fabrication.

      Feedback I have heard is that it holds its own tonally with the favorite second generation, but with a little more security in the slotting - more like a Handcraft. And with superior native intonation to any.

      I did not say that.

      That is a mis-quote of my post - as can be seen by scrolling up.

      @OldSchoolEuph A quick vote of thanks to OldSchoolEuph for posting this info and to all those members who have offer informed thoughts and commentary.
      It's this type of posting that drew me TH and the late lamented TM in the first instance. I would not deny that there is room for this type of information and social intercourse, however I would suggest that the more learned material that is posted, the greater the possibility for the site to attract a wider membership base.

      Just my thoughts, there I've said it.

      Regards Tom

      @Jolter said in BAC Plaza:

      Without knowing any trumpeters in particular beginning with "Z", yeah a 1503 must be it, being Kanstul's "72LT clone".

      So I take it the Plaza is not a straight up copy of any Kanstul? The name makes me think of the Kanstul Coliseum but the specs don't match up.

      [Edited once I realized I was mixing horns]
      The Plaza uses a more orchestral bell than that, and it is on a Kanstul-made mandrel. The Coliseum bell is faster taper than even the 72, this bell is less so. BAC is not building a horn with the Coliseum bell yet, though a certain person has been hassling them to do so!

      For both the Z72 and the Plaza, just as Zig insisted on, leadpipes are carefully matched to the finished design at BAC, and the body of the horn is designed with next-gen modeling playing a role. Think of the Z72 as a second generation 1503 updated to today's tech (and with that @#*%%$^ BAC brace - nothing's perfect....) and the Plaza as an all-around "legit" horn.

      @Niner It was never "my" problem. I moderated happily at TrumpetMaster - in spite of a lot of challenges. I only visit here occasionally as there really is little "new" or "stimulating" where I want to get more involved.

      I disagree with just deleting "offending" posts. Often the offense is just a moment of stupidity and does not apply to the whole post or the person in general. But to each his own. You certainly are within your constitutional rights ˝to favor whatever you like!".
