RE: A little humour
@bigdub The 180 is the overall length of the tubing in inches, and the 43 is the measurement in inches from mouthpiece to bell. S is for silver, of course. It's a BIG mutha!

RE: Please Flag Spam
I would have flagged a recent one if the perpetrator hadn't been noted as banned. I figured the deed had already been done, and today I see that the post has been removed.

@j-jericho Yes, there are means to go around blocked sites. The problem is that the "free" VPNs are serious security risks. Even although I use a Mac with all of the proper security tools, after using one of those VPNs, strange porn sites can pop up in the browser.
Good point; that's why I said "... a good VPN or proxy server...". I use Norton's paid VPN. Someone who should know told me that their free VPN isn't worth the price, and neither are any of the other free ones.

Sorry. I used to love cars. Now I hate cars. They are a necessary evil, but I just want ones that start and run reliably and drive comfortably.
You have the same attitude as my wife. She now says "All cars are junk, no matter how old or new they are."
For a little bit of perspective, and since we're indulging in car/motorcycle porn, my wife occasionally used to street race against Pontiac Trans Ams back in the day and win, driving her sedan that looked exactly like this one:
autoevolution.comShe said "I liked the way it pinned my ears back when I gave it the gas." It got to the point that I spent one day per week repairing it.
Now she drives this, when it isn't taking its 4 - 10 days off per month waiting for parts:
Meanwhile, we're shopping for a newer sedan for her with the right balance of reliability, performance, and price.

RE: Is this a Buescher?
Someone more computer savvy than I am can correct me if I'm wrong, but it is my understanding that a good VPN or proxy server can enable you to visit any website you please.

RE: Is this a Buescher?
It sure looks like one. Most likely a Model 9 Grand.

Nice! I expect that it goes best with my favorite road sign:

RE: New Toy (not a trumpet)
@dale-proctor How many warped/cracked cylinder heads did you have to replace on your Datsun?

RE: New Toy (not a trumpet)
Ages ago I had a GT6 that looked very much like this one, only without the butchered roof and the stock muffler. I lowered it an inch, which made it corner quite well, to put it mildly, and with 3 SUs and a header, it was a madman when you used the go pedal. I sold it on the one and only day I didn't have to fix something on it:

It did not work. There were no disruptions as promised.
FWIW - The next time I went to the TB website after liking your comment, I encountered Server Error.

RE: Story About S. E. Shires Corperation
@ssmith1226 said "The premise of the story is also ironic for reasons that I won’t get into, but the story itself is good."
Very succinct and well-said. The story itself is indeed a good look at how American manufacturers have to combine many aspects of their businesses in order to function successfully. However, there are critical underlying factors that make CNET's motivation invite further investigation for those so inclined.
