Does the K stand for someone? If it does I think that I know who that would be.
For even while we were with you, we used to give you this order: if anyone is not willing to work, then he is not to eat, either.
NOTICE:
This is not speaking of those that are not able to work. It speaks of those who are too lazy to work, which is where communism leads to because there is no incentive to work other than the minimum in order to stay out of trouble.
@Tobylou8 said in Is a $280 New Bach Stradivarius Trumpet too good to be true?:
Heck, the article I linked could be wrong and they make less.
I was surprised to see it at that much. I would think that they make less.
I had a Jin Bao made trumpet that was pretty good. I had an "intermediate" that was good except that the valves were toast in a couple of weeks. I had a beginner Wisemann that was decent, the valves lasted a beginner 5 years of playing and they are probably still good 4 years after that.
The intermediate and beginner were only decent after some custom work. The Jin Bao was pretty good out of the box.
I have a Wisemann Eb that was a good playing horn out of the box but it is now an excellent Eb, much better than that famous, over priced, American brand that I can't stand. I haven't played Mendini or Cecelio.
Which brands of Chinese horns do you have?
I love the ones that call for lessons a week or so after they buy a piece of junk.

I'm conflicted about long tones.
On the one hand, my mind knows they are good.
On the other hand, I hate doing them.
Watch TV when doing them. They will go by easily. Nothing is the same as long tones. Long tones are all about being as steady and efficient as possible. If you move it is a different skill set.

As far as blood pressure goes, a little exercise goes a long way...
If I ran every time I heard someone misuse "myself" I could run in the Olympics .

Never heard of bigly, but it doesn't sound like someone trying to use big words that are wrong.
Could be a UUUUUGE problem!
Larry Brown and Tony Bania; GUILTY!
The word isn't here but the funniest part of the scene IMHO
@Niner said in Spread the Word and Help Lower my Blood Pressure:
@Brian-Moon if "bigly" is foreign to you, how about "covfefe"? If you are in Michigan you must have noticed at one time or the other listening to the broadcast news. A very important role model uses those terms ...coined them actually. They must be in the full international up to date English dictionary by now. Correct word usage changes all of the time.
I don't think that a misspelled word is related to incorrect usage of a word,. Someone else can start a spelling rant if they'd like to.

It bothers me the most when I hear libtards who have journalism degrees say it. To be fair, hearing a libtard say much is irritating enough in the first place.
I'm not sure that speaking mockingly of people who have opposing political POVs is very constructive, liberals or conservatives. That lumping of people into either/or is part of the problem, today.
You're right. I shouldn't have started the political discussion. I am just tired of certain haughty people. I'll go back to my grammar vent.

Hopefully, that makes is all right again?
Good one Doc
βIt depends on what the meaning of the word 'is' is.
Now there I go quoting the man with a nose like a vacuum cleaner.

"There's" is so rampant there's almost no point in trying to mention it. Nobody's listening or cares.
"There is", is singular. "There are" is plural. "There's" is singular, not plural. English 101.
Ex: There's 20 cars in the parking lot. No. There are 20 cars in the parking lot.Geez.
You have a very good point, but that one again isn't someone trying to sound highfalutin so it don't bug me
Besides, a lot of us hicks from my area talk like that. We want it in the dictionary as correct cuz itz easier to say.
@Niner

Incorrect use of the word βmyselfβ is maddening. It is rampant in the U.S.A. these days.
@Bob-Pixley said in Eb Trumpet Question:
I'm a little late with advice, but you need to practice on the Eb enough to ingrain the pitch/written music relationship in your head. Most of the tinny sound people produce on the Eb (and picc) is caused by unfamiliarity and excess tension. Just try to open up and relax in the lower register and remember that's the easy part of the range.
Good advice and also blowing too hard can cause the same problem.
@Richard-III said in 1953 Conn 80A Cornet:
Okay. I like bottom sprung valves. So much less complicated. I can switch them out for the feel I like. And when putting the valves back in the casings, there's no way to get them turned in the wrong direction. Very simple system that works great, for me. My 80A always gets admiring looks from the trumpet playing crowd and they love the feel of the valves when they try it.
You can switch the springs inside a spring barrel with about the same amount of effort and you don''t have to deal with making sure that the spring is lodged inside the bottom valve cap just so. A plus for bottom springs is that spring barrels make a scratching noise if the springs are out of round very much. It takes a lot to for bottom springs to have the same problem. I usually find it to be a real pain trying to get a bottom sprung cap to thread easily.
