Took some reference photos before delivering a recent painting to folks in PA along the Delaware River and this is what I ended up with....

RE: Artist on BOARD
Let me share why I don’t care to be compared to Bob Ross by way of this article: https://www.artsy.net/article/artsy-editorial-bob-ross-owes-happy-trees-forgotten-painter
In the article it tells how Bob Ross learned the technique and subsequently steamrolled over William “Bill” Alexander, who taught him the entire wet on wet technique. Bob Ross was Bill Alexander's protege. Ross went on to overshadow Bill Alexander, but not before putting his own name on all of the tools and paints and materials originally sold by Alexander. The difference? Ross's handles were white. Alexander's where natural wood tone. Even the phrase, “Happy Little Trees”, he stole from Bill. That is why I didn’t care for him too much nor enjoy being compared to him..
See for yourself. -

Here is a work in progress, though maybe nearly complete.
I have to live with it and look over what I want to add or “fix” -

You're missing the nude girl emerging from the water.
No he's not missing the nude girl. We are in the back in the woods together... in front of the pine tree, behind the rock, covering our water immersion.
Then, of course, there’s shrinkage

They kind of look like ghost ships for some reason.......not intentional
This is more like it -

This truly is a ghost ship. It has a back wash and small wake but no captain operating the boat!
You have a good point there. They must have been trying to find something on the floor for a minute.

The Good Ship Lollypop?
Or the Goodwill Ship Lollypop where people actually give a ship!
If you noticed, the owner of the boat might have beenMomma's Boy. See the name? ( Me n Ma )

A very old vintage painting I did which involved some combining of images....just saying, I did not actually see this scene as it appears except when I painted it that way! We are looking at something from around 1980 here.

RE: Artist on BOARD
I would say I am a bit on the unconventional style. Some bits and pieces here and there, but a lot of things that I have discovered maybe by trial and error.....and sometimes accidentally!
I will do some of the palette knife stuff, but sometimes it needs a little help, in my opinion through other means, a brush sweeping lightly past, or a slightly wet brush to soften places. or even my finger, lots of times. This is acrylic paint, though. Did you know that? -

You said your painting was in the Cochran. There's a Cochran Museum in Austin.
Haha. Pardonne moi. I hadn’t heard of that museum. No, the Cochrans are friends who commissioned me to do the painting in question. They live near me as well, in NJ.

That’s how my face would look too after being with Einstein.
Look at his teacher's face. Seems to me his expression says,
“ I didn’t learn a single thing in school!” -

FACT: Einstein applied for a Chair of Mathematics in Zurich and was rejected because "his theories were too far-fetched for use in academic teaching."
That, sadly, is amazingly similar to my situation, except for the chair of mathematics job, and having theories.

RE: Woodworking?
This is another thing I made. A rolling storage cart. Fairly simple, but what made it so much more simple to make was the use of the pocket hole Jig. One of the best things for fastening. All the screws are hidden because I did them from the bottom. There are 100 screws holding this together!
It is surprisingly strong and stable, too. -

There is a kit available By Krieg and other companies called the pocket hole jig. It consists of a special drill bit for pilot holes, a guide so that the hole is made in the precise angle needed, special screws for this purpose, and a square head bit fitting the screw heads. The way the pre drilled hole is made allows the screw to be flush with the surface and will not be seen from the angle affords the strongest attachment by the way it goes into the side grain.
There are various price points, but here is what one kit looks like. -

I was taking a Japan Airlines flight from Tokyo to Wash. D.C. and got upgraded to first class because I was wearing a uniform. They served me a multi-course traditional Japanese banquet-meal that was to die for.
But you didn’t. And wouldn’t. Would you?
If you died for it, how would you eat it?
