@Trumpetb Thank you I realized when I wrote this post that I really didnt miss the trumpet .I learned two lessons 1. just because it's a student trumpet doesn't mean it's not on par with other trumpets.2. Somebody out there may need a good beginner trumpet why shouldn't be a little boy or girl.
I brought a Besson 609 used trumpet.Now this is how I make stupid choices .I thought well it's a student trumpet can not be that good .Wrong I paid $ 149.50 for it at a hock shop played great was solid built really well came with a hard wood case , not sure if the case was original but it fit perfectly .Now my only and stupid reason I sold it was because I heard or read it is a student horn.I should not have sold it.But thinking back it went to a cute little boy whose dad wanted him to have a good trumpet .Now in retrospect I am happy for the little guy as I write this .It is a good trumpet why shouldn't he have it.
@Dale-Proctor Okay but that is what Yamaha suggests oil it Before that was my main question.I guess you can't hurt the trumpet by using too much oil.

I also own a 100 year old trumpet it's a Conn.5B from 1924 it is built like a tank and the valves are fast because I do the same regiment I do on my Yamaha .Thank you so much for your kind help.Anthony
I have a brand new Yamaha trumpet that I recently bought .Since its my first brand new trumpet not used I wanted to be careful and take good care of it So the manual that came with this Yamaha Xeno says to oil it Before and After playing. Now it sounds like overkill to me so I asked my tech.guy and he said yes ! do it because it removes debris from the pistons.But then to confuse things he said it will be ready for the next day !!
So what does that mean don't oil it Before on the next day or not? Anyone that can figure what the heck I mean please help.Anthony

@Gendreauj I use a Bach 6 .I really don't care if it's a student horn or not anymore because I am finding out that vintage student horns some were built better .Also I had a Wick 4 ?? Cornet m.p. but I think I gave it to someone as a gift.
@Gendreauj Thank you it really is a nice horn .I picked it up on eBay for $45.00 invested another $45 to straighten out the bell ...it looked like the player passed out and fell on the bell! I hope I spelled it correctly.I mentioned another trumpet that are expensive and hard to find Martin Committee.Is Calicchio trumpets hard to locate or expensive? Maybe not as expensive as Martin ?

Can anyone enlighten me about Martin Committee trumpets.I saw one selling for $7,000 after a mark down in price on Reverb.It looked a little worn but it's from 1957 .Is it that good a trumpet to be worth that amount ? Thank you Anthony & Merry Christmas

@ROWUK Yes he should have done that anneled the dented part .My thinking it was a used garage sale trumpet he thought use a patch .He is very busy and made a quick buck.I can send your pictures not sure how .But the deed is done I am in the process of moving .I am now in Florida for a few days then moving north to Youngstown Ohio .Thank you Anthony
