Best value instruments: CarolBrass

I think that the best value you might find out there is CarolBrass. They are solid, in-tune and easy to play, not to mention they look nice with a brushed finish. The valve action feels very nice. I have played many "name-brand" trumpets I did not like as much as these. If I were suggesting a new trumpet to a new player, I would suggest CarolBrass. It won't break your bank like a new Yamaha but it will serve the player well for many, many years.

@administrator Spot on. My 7660L is everything I could have hoped for (and more). By any measure they are exceptional value for money.

Or you could choose a Manchester Brass like I did. It was custom made for Austin Custom Brass in the same factory that makes Carol Brass. It is a great band horn with excellent valves and an open blow and even lower priced than Carol Brass .

@administrator 100% agree. I have an early model Legend Heavyweight and bought a mini-pocket earlier this year. Like many Carol horns the Legend came with round and D-shaped tuning slides along with standard and heavier valve caps and buttons. Even though Carol are building the mini-pocket to a price - it comes with a plastic mouthpiece - build quality and valves are excellent.

Jason Harrelson must agree as well as I heard he uses CarolBrass valve blocks for his horns. Love my Harrelson, and love the valve block!
