Is this a picture of Chet Baker/ Really?
Found on https://trumpetadviser.com/best-trumpet-players/ -
@Kehaulani
No, I believe it's Ethan Hawke, an actor portraying Chet in Born to be Blue. Further down the page, they've got a picture that's labeled King Oliver, but looks a whole lot more like Satchmo to meI also just noticed that, although they got her picture correct, they seem to think Alison Balsom is deceased. Glad they're wrong about that!

I haven’t seen the movie, but that picture is definitely Ethan Hawke.

Idiots. Just goes to show you that people can now produce professional and authoritative looking materials with information when they don't have a clue. To paraphrase, "Let the reader beware"!
BTW, I own that movie about Chet. It takes just a snapshot out of one period in Chet's life. It's not a full, chronological bio. It's impressionistic versus exact fact but it's interesting and a nice way to spend a little time.

The post in question appears to be satire, with subtle humor injected into each bio. Chet Baker got sick because he practiced too hard. Alison Balsom died at age 40 and was the mother of trumpet players.
EDIT: Looking at other posts on this site, they claim that an intermediate player will desperately seek an intermediate trumpet. And their discussion of valve oil has a picture of what looks like CBD oil.

Might explain his high opinion of Mendini trumpets.

Well, one man's satire is another man's sarcasm - if it's that sophisticated. Point is, though, this kind of stuff is damaging and would be taken as fact by all but the knowledgeable.

I agree. It might be satire to some. But it's misinformation to others.

Subtle humor indeed. Too subtle for me: Please tell me when I must laugh.

A parallel point: one man's sarcasm is another man's ignorance... so don't drink the bleach... and it isn't that sophisticated.
