Jazz or classical. If jazz, I would add UNT and Berklee.

Indiana University. I know Bill Adam (teacher to Chris Botti and Randy Brecker) are no longer there, but their music program still has an amazing reputation.

Joey Tartell is there - among other places, Joey was at one time the lead trumpet player for the US Army Jazz Ambassadors, and he spent some time with Maynard Ferguson's Big Bop Neoveau band. (I think he did his undergrad at UNT)
Johns Hopkins Peabody Conservatory of Music would be another good place if you were looking at playing classical trumpet. I know that some of the private instructors are in the Baltimore Symphony.
I also know a couple of fine players in the premier military bands who went to Oberlin Conservatory.

Peabody is outstanding, second the motion.
While we're at it, New England Conservatory is no slouch.
Actually, that was my first choice for my Master degree but North Texas made me "an offer I couldn't refuse". -
Where is Peabody?
-
Peabody Institute is the name of the conservatory that is a part of Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore.

Peabody is in Baltimore, Md. it is the music school part of Johns Hopkins University. Very good school, I believe. Our lead trumpet player in my band is a graduate Trumpet Major from there.

Ever hear of Curtis and Julliard?

Manhattan's no slouch either.
I had a friend who was "auditioning" The Juilliard School and Manhattan School of Music. He characterized the difference between the two as "Manhattan being somewhat humane while Juilliard students dragged their knuckles on the ground and ate railroad spikes for breakfast" LOL.

Baylor University is one of the top trumpet programs, Wiff Rudd is the teacher there, along with Mark Schubert.
And I am going to St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN next year, which may not be as well known as these. However, it is a very good school with some of the best school ensembles out there, and Dr. Hodel (the trumpet professor) is a fantastic teacher and player. My former teacher Micah Wilkinson went there, and he is the new principal trumpet of the Pittsburgh symphony. A couple other St. Olaf grads have gone onto great things as well.

Isn't St. Olaf where there is a killer annual Christmas concert? Absolute killer. I don't know about its instrumental program but what an environment, if that's the place I'm thinking of.
-
@Kehaulani Indeed! I would be playing on that Christmas program next year. It is probably most well known for its choirs, but the orchestras and bands tour around the world as well and are amazing. I am quite excited to go there!
