#AmandasBench

I figured I would add to this discussion by posting a link to my shop’s page - I do fairly regular blog posts there, usually about the more interesting horns that cross my bench. I’ve had a few that belong in this category because even though they might be in perfect shape, they don’t function properly in a modern playing situation. This one is a prime example - perfect and beautiful but not a good player, probably why they didn’t make it for long! It sold easily to a collector, though.

Quinn the Eskimo? He's a big ebay seller. Just about always has some high demand vintage horns.
-
@Niner Yup, and all the brass cross my bench before they sell
-
I was really shocked at how small it is!
-
@Tobylou8 It is super tiny! That was a Bach 184 it was next to.

If you like our Quinn the Eskimo shop page on Facebook or follow us on instagram you’ll see more of my posts - the first bunch I did didn’t go on the website as blog posts. Just search #AmandasBench

@flugelgirl Exceptional! The depth of the engraving and the condition of the horn and the case are remarkable. You mention "... a higher key...". Just out of curiosity, what key does it play in?
-
@j-jericho The text says Eb.
-
@newell-post Duh! I was so distracted by the photos that I missed the title.

What an amazing looking horn. The detail in the engraving work is something to behold.
-
It really is an exceptional little horn! It’s also tiny - about the size of an Eb cornet. Cutest tiny flugel ever!

Is it even remotely playable?

@administrator it actually plays really well! The trick is just finding a situation to play it in - not like there’s been any demand for it in modern groups!
