Lawler C7 P s 119
-
Can anyone help me identify this Lawler trumpet.
It is marked C7 on the bell, the only other marking is P s 119 on the 2nd valve.
Brushed brass.Thanks

A picture would be helpful. Usually the serial number is on the third slide. There is a PS1 model but the extra 19 throws me off.
The C7 was produced to be a sound copy of the Martin Committee. It is loved by Lawler owners as it has very accurate attack and intonation while having the darker sound of the Committee. But a copy of the Committee it is not. The Martin Committee has a more "greasy" attack but if you know how to play one has excellent intonation.

@turtletrumpet
The p s 119 stands for Psalm 119 or some other Psalm verse. Lawyer puts it there because it means a lot to him. This is what I was told by a friend who owns one. Ironically his last name is Lawler as well! -
LOL. Dr G, the horn doesn't have excellent intonation. You do.

@kehaulani
Pretty sure there are horns with better intonation than others.
Otherwise we would all be playing Bundy's.
True? -

Or a Sears, Roebuck Catalog trumpet, as did I.That’s because Mao wasn’t into making copies of American Musical Instruments.

Actually it was made by Blessing, in Elkhart, Indiana, and people who are in the know have told me that it was equivalent to the Super Artist model. I just donated it last June to a school district in Western Idaho for some youngster to learn on as well. -
@dr-go
Using an Android, there does not appear to be a way to attach a picture.
What appears to be a way to get to my gallery only inserts this into the reply:

And a little camera square with a checkbox tantalizingly appears momentarily behind the red chat circle on the right.
But I did find the serial number on the third valve 0922. -
@turtletrumpet The simplist way I know is to find the snipp it tool in your browsers search window, open it, choose New then frame the picture, copy, then paste it on your TB reply window.

When I post a photo, this is what I see, and I tap the circled icon shown here, then choose- photo library and that’s what works on my iPad.
I know it’s not android, but what works for me
