All That Jazz: Miles Davis’s Onetime California Home Asks $15 Million - WSJ
-
The Wall Street Journal featured an article with the above name. Miles Davis’s final home, which he owned from 1985 until his death in 1991 is for sale. This is your chance to own a piece of Jazz history, in Malibu, no less, for only $15,000,000.
Another alternative, based on the rough calculation that Trumpet Boards has about 430 members signed up would be, if we all chipped in $35,000, we could purchase the house free and clear and make it the “TrumpetBoards.Com World Headquarters”. I would be happy to live on site to make sure the beach was properly raked to a smooth texture and the tide kept on schedule.

I don't know but I have seen it before somewhere.

I think the artist is Claude Creach.
-
It looks very much like this one by Debra Hurd.

Here's Claude Creach's painting:

Looks like they used the same photograph as a model for their paintings.

You know, Curlydoc, it wasn’t good enough that I volunteered to live in the house if it became the new TrumpetBoards.Com world headquarters, now you want me to be the docent
Seriously, I don’t know painted that mural (pictured at bottom), but many people have used the classic photograph as seen above the mural to base similar paintings on. I don’t know who took the original photograph, but it has been used in a number of publications and you can purchase canvas prints of it on line.

Getting back to the house purchase... I'm in!
