Is WWBW on the ropes?
-
I placed two orders for routine cleaning/maintenance supplies toward the end of last year and have not received them, although I have been charged for the purchases. Communication from WWBW has consisted of various delays, including out of stock/back ordered, canceled order, shipped order to wrong recipient, will ship order promptly, will refund all charges, etc.
Prior to these difficulties, WWBW had treated me very well. Has anyone else had similar experiences?
In researching this phenomenon, I found significantly poor ratings for the company and also that they have reportedly combined with Musician's Friend, another company with significantly poor ratings.
FWIW - I am moving my business to Dillon Music on a regular basis; they have always treated me exceptionally well.

I don't know how X = Z, but I ordered a horn mouthpiece over a month ago, and what usually takes a couple o days has yet to appear.

These problems are symptomatic of a store/chain in trouble, I believe WWBW is part of the Guitar Center group which I heard has filed for bancrupcy.
We has a chain of music stores close here in Australia, I had ordered a Manhassat stand from them, it was not in stock and they would order it in for me. Over the next couple of months i would ask about the stand and would be assured it was on order, I finally asked the sales person would they phone the importer and ask when they would be getting them,
she came back and said I could pick it up tomorrow.
Nuff Sed.Regards, Stuart.

If X = A and Z = A, then X = Z QED

From your post, it isn't clear what happened. But maybe the most important question is whether you asked for a refund, and did you get it?
As many of us know, Guitar Center owns WWBW, MusiciansFriend, Music123, and Music & Arts.
I've never had a serious problem ordering from these companies. And when requested, I've never had a problem returning an item or getting a refund. This includes orders placed in the last month.

@tmd Rereading my post should clarify the problem.
Since I received no merchandise in the 4 months since I was charged for it, and my request for/their promise of a refund had not materialized, I disputed the charges with my credit card company. I have received written confirmation of reversal of the charges from my credit card company but have yet to see them posted to my account.

Update: The credit card charge reversals posted yesterday. This WWBW story is an illustration of potential vs. reality. They had a great sales model which they just did not fulfill - for a number of reasons.
