Please continue to post these. I absolutely love them. What a gem this one is. I would love to play that cornet.
Much appreciated.

@flugelgirl I have one. Its unique for sure!! Conn experimented a lot. I think this one will go down as a loser. Never had a horn that played so badly

This one doesn’t play badly, but pistons are so worn it doesn’t play great, either. I suspect it might be a nice player with a valve job. The lease agreement is what makes it special!

While I'm no expert, I think my 1903 Connqueror plays pretty well. The valves look cruddy, but work well and the compression seems reasonably good -- perhaps it wasn't played much. But it was certainly the no-frills model. Matte silver (gold-washed bell) with no engraving except the Conn logo. Before I cleaned it up the local music store told the previous owner that it looked like it was made of tin. That's why he gave it to me (or rather, I saved it from the trash bin).

@shifty My 06 is nicely engraved. Very ornate. The Conqueror was discontinued in 1907 (I believe). I believe the Perfected Wonder and the Wonderphone eclipsed it.
I have 2 extremely well kept Perfected Wonders and a very very nice Wonderphone. the Conqueror is a very inferior playing horn compared to these 3. And notice how nice the valves are in the Conqueror. All my old Conns have loose valves.
Just MY experience.

@adc
Amanda's horn looks to be the "Perfected Connqueror" that post-dates the original Connqueror, which is what I have. Maybe they shouldn't have perfected it? The Loyalist site says the original Connquerer was discontinued in 1902, but mine has a 1903 serial number. -
Very cool! I wish a few of my old horns had some of the original paperwork with them.

Wow, getting to see and play all those great horns of the past...Madam, you have a dream of a job.
