RE: Matt Brockman: SCAM
It was my impression that the attitude not of a stern teacher, but rather that of a very pushy salesperson wanting my money more than to help me improve - even telling me to stop supporting my son so I could pay for lessons

@administrator Your calling to this is worthy of big wampum, but I'm a trumpet player LOL thanx for all you do!

RE: I feel your pain - I will review all the thread and tell you what I've learned
@thornybob pretty much my experience too - played trumpet HARD with a blues/rock/Steely Dan/Chicago band and I think I gave them my last efforts - ah well, off to Alto Sax - the right hand three fingers mimic trumpet quite well

RE: Back to Arbans and Others
@tjcombo right on! The cycle/circle is great for so many standard changes like the Blues, which so foundational to more complicated changes! I use it lots!

RE: Back to Arbans and Others
Hi! If younger people work in all keys, that will benefit them if later in life if they develop an interest in jazz improvisation - improvising creatively involves changing keys quickly and effectively

RE: The past lives on and we are judged by it
@Trumpetb man if you can catch them in the act (notice a recording on someone's site) send em an eye-opening bill - on the front side, a 'please no recordings' message can't hurt - I think the majority don't know the legalities of intellectual property, but if they are selling it, that's shameful - stuff I play wont make them any money LOL

RE: The past lives on and we are judged by it
@Trumpetb theft is agredious no matter the form - what you are referring is the concert version of snatch and grab
-
RE: Do you ever feel like.....
@administrator i think human musicians will never be replaced - there is plenty of room for AI music and I imagine humans' ears and performance will progress nicely as a result

RE: The past lives on and we are judged by it
@Trumpetb everyone has recordings they wish were not public - and sessions they wish had been recorded LOL - it's the risk we take for the sake of trying to make good music - I'd we waited until we are perfect before recording anything we would not have any recordings - including the good ones! Keep making music and keep recording it!
