...flugelgirl too. Need more ladies. Too much testosterone on trumpet sites sometimes....

RE: RIP Trumpet "Master"
Can anyone contact sethoflagos? I always thought his TM posts were interesting and insightful; and it would be great to have him here. Also, any of the British, Dutch, etc. members of TM would be great. Even if the trumpeting things are somewhat similar from country to country, the points of view about world affairs were really diverse and very interesting from the non-yanks. We might already have an Australian or two here from TM, but more of them would be great as well.

RE: Favorite Cornet
@King_Conng It does indeed refer to the vandal. Unhinged.

RE: The Seven C's
How about sticking to an established standard like....
C4 (middle C)
C5 (treble C)
C6 (high C)
C7 (double C)
C8... that's baloney. No trumpet ever really gets to C8.Yeah, yeah. I know Bb trumpets are transposing instruments one step off concert key. But the forgoing notation is traditional, accepted, and concise.

RE: Favorite Cornet
@King_Conng That is the most unhinged thing I have ever seen a person do.

RE: Favorite Cornet
@King_Conng Do you have a simple version of Photoshop, or anything similar, that would copy the image down to 500 x 500 pixels? That should make it uploadable.

RE: Show Us Your Wristwatches!
Every once in a while, I use a pocket watch. I don't really use it as a watch, but I set it on the podium when making speeches and things of that nature when I don't want to always be looking at my wristwatch. The "railroad style" face and hands are very easy to read. True railroad watches were designed that way so trainmen could read them in all kinds of weather and lighting conditions.

Like this. $125 on sale, never needs anything. It's a perpetual motion machine.

RE: Show Us Your Wristwatches!
I really like the look of this Hamilton, but $300 for a "chronometer tune up" to keep it accurate? Forget it. The Citizen Eco-Drives never need winding, never need batteries, never need cleaning, and never need regulating.

RE: Adams Brass Day at Austin Custom Brass 3/18/19
@ACB As a former KC person, I would love to drop in, but it's a bit of a schlep from Silicon Valley. I did actually try to drop by to see the new shop on Boxing Day when I was visiting family, but you were closed! LOL, there's probably not a lot of drop-in business the day after Christmas. I'll try to catch you next time I'm there.

RE: RIP Trumpet "Master"
It is sobering that in this high-tech world where even your washing machine is computerized, an unknown event for one person can take down an entire community that evolved over a lengthy period of time.

RE: RIP Trumpet "Master"
I would hope that if the founder (MJ) just ran out of gas and was tired of it, he would have turned it over to someone else.
