How does one delete someone else's post?

I'm not defending or criticizing anyone's post in particular, but even if one deletes a post within one's own reads, he doesn't delete them from general readership which, I think, is the point of keeping posts tasteful.

Regarding the last part of that sentence, if you don't know who makes borderline, tasteless posts then it's probably you, LOL.

    • RE: Used prices?

It's consumer driven, right? Do we really need to talk about it? It's history is long.

Personally, I think most items loose value 25-30% the moment they fly off the shelve. I usually use as a ballpark figure for resale at about 30%. It's a combination of supply and demand and the going rate for your region. It also is affected by the item's aura.

      Thanks.
There might be no major effect on it's playability, but doesn't stripping it of the lacquer call for more maintenance than a lacquered horn?

    • RE: Very Nice 1929 Conn 22B Trumpet For Sale

LOL. As a former resident of Germany, I imported many instruments and never had a problem. Just make sure that your PayPal has a good fraud insurance and get UPS to do the packing and then have them insure it.

Where some sellers have a problem is that, without a written O.K. regarding the actual shipping cost from the seller, they won't get the item sent from the seller. So this means one trip to the shipper for packing and cost estimate, then going home and waiting for an O.K. of the shipping cost to from the buyer, and then another trip to the shipper.

So, for some, the objection isn't regarding one having a foreign address rather than a bunch of running around that they don't really want to do. Depending on where the seller lives with respect to the shipper, he just might not want to mess with the running around.

The only way around this that I know, is for the seller to have a shipping charge that both parties agree to, regardless of the actual cost. In that case, take nothing for granted and have a solid paper trail.

Can't make room in my brown bag for this.
Would love a view like that, though. I moved here to Texas from Germany. The view is more appropriate for a Rodeo.

There are a bunch of tunes in that genre. I used to get off on some of them because of certain extra-musical connections.

But, for me, there's no comparing one of Maynard's scream/disco albums to his Message From Newport, for example. I don't listen to much of that higher, faster, louder, nanny-goat vibrato stuff, either.

Yessir, Jimmy Buffet. I used to live on the Mississippi coast at the right time and some of his songs had a real resonance. Changes in Latitudes, Cheeseburger in Paradise, and Margaritaville. I've been to Key West. Special place.

@adc said in Clarke’s Technical Studies Redux:

has anyone here used Saint Jacomes? I have done some. My music teacher I don't think uses it so I don't do much of it.

You can get a copy in PDF for free off the intreret and judge for yourself.

It's not about what kind of lubricant you put into your horn. It's about how much lubricant you can put into yourself before you touch your horn. Then it doesn't matter. 😀

    • RE: Not really a "mouthpiece safari" but the need for a "saving grace" type of mouthpiece...

rowuk tell me if I'm off track. I would just add these observations.

Shallower cups (not diameters), can emphasise the upper partials and de-emphasise the lower ones, aiding the sound to being more easily heard if playing lead or in an electric combo. This is an acoustic phenomenon, not a range building one.

Deep cups, for many, are just harder to sustain playing high notes over a long period of time, and generally enhance the roundness or depth of the tone, pushing out the lower partials at the trade-off of the upper ones.

And some mouthpieces just enhance a certain sound preference.

This doesn't mean that any of these factors can't be "overcome", in and of themselves. To use an analogy though, you can get from New Hampshire to California in a BMW or a Volkswagen Beetle. It just depends on how you want to travel.
