RE: playing with a full lower de nture
It depends on what kind of playing you want to do. If it's heavy-duty orchestral or big band lead playing, I can't help you. If it's Jazz combo playing, I would look to Chet Baker for inspiration and guidance.
While recovering from getting his teeth bashed in, I know he specifically said playing long tomes. He alluded to "all the books". I assume he meant Arban, Williams and Clarke, etc.. But what I got out of his personal comments was a different approach to playing. He certainly could play with conviction but it was without the kind of aggressiveness of, say, a Lee Morgan.
He learned how to get his trumpet to speak, with little pressure. Of course there's no playing with absolutely no pressure, but I would explore the writings of the "no pressure" advocates and take what works best for you. Playing with false teeth did have an effect, not only on his playing but on his endurance, that's one reason he mixed his sets up with both playing and singing. So, if you can sing, sing and give your chops a rest. If you can't, program an occasional tune featuring ne of your band mates and you laying out. If you're playing alone, this doesn't apply.
I play with very little pressure and what helped me was a change in attitude about using an embouchure plus, using more embouchure and less pressure doing the Maggio exercises. n.b. I did not use Maggio's embouchure, just the exercises.
If you're a combo player, listen to Chet in Tokyo and tell me if that's not good enough,

RE: I cannot find a 28b Connstellation anywhere. Is there a way to "create" one?

@kehaulani he asked for wide wrap horns, so…..
I didn't notice that, flugelgirl. Thanks.
In that case, I would definitely try the Adams if I could find a dealer who has a good return policy, -

We haven’t had any lately. If I remember correctly, that’s what the Adams A6 is based on,but it’s a much better horn!
Just be aware of the wider wrap. https://www.adams-music.com/en/adams/brass/trumpet/b-flat/a6

Interested in a Cornet?
https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/109527462399665/?hoisted_items=748387889831393Good grief. That is a ridiculous price for a 28A. I would sell mine for $500. I just got it and had it completely worked over including valve alignment. I just have too many horns.
If you can't find one, the price goes up.. I got my King from an individual in Japan - the only one I could find, anywhere,

RE: The Visualization Of Sound Waves
I wonder what happens if you play "The Stripper".

My eyes are not the greatest so I might've missed a "sold" notice but:

RE: Moderator absent...
How wonderful! I envy you. Viel Spaß!
I went for several summers in a row playing concerts for beachside cities in Sicily.
Spent the days in blue waters, white sand, pulchritude, outdoor Pizzaria. Then evenings, outdoor concerts in pleasant weather, then more great food. I was a pig in slop. What more could a little Hawaiian boy want?

RE: HELP! Brahms 4, trumpet parts in Bb, C or D?
If you're going to play it on only a one-pitched trumpet (C?) and the gig is in August, I'd enter the original in a notation program and easily transpose it the whole thing to C.
Once in the notation program, you can easily make the transpositions with just the pressing of a button. And, of course, you'll also get a professionally printed copy to read from.

On this trip, I’m afraid the weapon of choice will have to be my seven year old Mendini Pocket Trumpet. The last time I went to Germany, I had a pocket trumpet, too. Carried it in my suitcase. No problems.
(Glad you got out of Saudi Arabia in one piece, Dr GO. I assume you took no women.) -
RE: Forced Layoff
I've traveled all over the world as a musician. There are parking garages and there are storage rooms where you can play, open horn. Maybe even ballrooms etc. which are vacant.
Silent Brass is a gas. I am currently using a Best Brass which is very quiet but doesn't provide the kind of feedback Silent Brass provides.
Those other devices only go so far before they get gimmickey. Play open-horn as much as possible.

RE: R.I.P. Dusko Gojkovich
With that first-time seeing and playing, you're in good company. I understand that Eric Miyashiro started playing with Buddy Rich by getting notified suddenly and reading the music on concert, cold.

RE: Dual Citizenship
Gad, trumpetb. With an outlook like that, I'm not sure I'd want to get out of bed in the morning.

RE: Dual Citizenship
I would, personally, check into it but I would be very clear about taxes. You could get screwed if you're not careful.
Also, it may simplify some of your travel plans if you're inventive.
p.s. the Czech Republic may allow dual citizenship but the U.S., not.

RE: This is in the mail
Mine arrived yesterday evening. When I initially got it, it looked and played well but knowing that there might be something unseen that needed correcting, I sent it to Josh.
The only things that were done were to take out a couple of minor dings and giving it a cleaning. I got a really good deal

RE: This is in the mail
I've got a King coming back to today, too. Golden Flair. Just coming from Josh Landress.

RE: Adams Sonic or Yamaha 631G
You may find another Flugelhorn better suited to your needs. The Adams F-1 was my choice, so here was my criteria.
*I wanted a Couesnon-type sound. A Flugelhorn that would give me a sound similar to this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oF7Wx_pdWeg&list=PLfJndz0utgONWpSfdEMuW74Ajzf3WNOLG
*needed as lightweight a Flugelhorn I could find,
*and, of course, good playability and excellent workmanship.
