Absolutely meaningless, maybe even incomprehensible, for most. But, at age 67, I am planning on drag racing for the first time with my 2006 Mustang GT this weekend.
You will love it! It's a great way to learn focus, self-control, and confidence, which you will find enhances your approach when you play a solo.
ADDENDUM - Don't forget the old adage: "The best way to make a small fortune is to start with a large fortune, and go auto racing."
Until I stumbled across https://fileminimizer-pictures.en.softonic.com/ a few days ago, I was unable to post images on any forum. It's basic, but it works for me; I'm happy with it. Although YMMV, I say it's worth a try.

@Kehaulani My wife and I had the honor and pleasure of seeing and hearing him in an intimate nightclub atmosphere in the mid 1980s. Besides being an awesome musician, he was also humble about his music. Whenever he finished a tune, he held out his sax as if to say: "It's all in the horn; I just bring it out."
Today is the anniversary of Giancarlo's passing. Listened to this yesterday, as I do every year out of respect. My favorite tenor sax player and my favorite pianist!

I can just imagine a ME saying "Looks like Dr. GO misspelled another prescription."
@flugelgirl Is it the size and proportion of the bell to the rest of the tubing that makes equipment choice more important to trombonists than to trumpeters, given that smaller bell diameters have a reputation (deserved or not) of projecting more, while larger bell diameters have an equally deserved/undeserved reputation of providing more feedback to the player?
Can it be said that we have a characteristic sound in mind for each of the instruments that we match up to with our technique? After all, it's possible to make a cornet sound like a trumpet and vice versa, plus, if played a certain way, a flugelhorn can sound quite like a cornet, although sounding like our expectation of a trumpet may not be so doable.
@Kujo20 You will recall my saying that TH is a forum, whereas TM is a family. I get that same sense here at TB, and I appreciate the lack of histrionics that could devalue the experience at TH and TM.
Which do you think is more successful for beginners? Tried and true vintage student horns, or new affordable/playable (as opposed to TSOs) ones? Any experience/suggestions?
Among the three instruments, trumpet, cornet, and flugelhorn, do you play each differently? If so, how? And why?
I noticed on TromboneChat.com that a lot of attention is given to bore size. I'm not convinced that it matters as much as they say. How (and how much) does bore size affect things like endurance, volume, and timbre, for instance? And does bore size matter more with a trombone than it does with a trumpet?
Maybe we should ask the usual questions and see what pops up as a discussion. I'll try a few and see what happens.

Some of you might appreciate a little southern comfort Art.
This is a scene I painted from a friend's great photo of a South Carolina inlet, somewhere on or near Hilton Head Island. By the way, I was unhappy with the first version and did it over. This is the new version.
Beautiful. It reminds me of the Florida Highwaymen.

I’m not a Moderator, but, you must have made an error. This is supposed to be the “Random MEANINGLESS Image” Discussion.
Mea culpa. This was neither random nor meaningless. It's Dizzy's Silver Flair in the National Museum of American History.
