Looks like he was still playing the Getzen Eterna at that time.
I guess there is room for improvement. For me, that is, seeing I play the same horn. That’s probably where the similarities end.
Maybe our ancestry is also similar…….so, there’s that.

Ok, since it has been some time now since I have indulged you with any new things, here is one I a, currently wrapping up. It is for my nephew who wanted to give something to a friend who treated him to a week of skiing at Big Sky Montana. This is the mountain here. Lots of detail and a nice challenge.

They have been having a little bear trouble in Idaho's National forest lately. Warnings were issued, posters were distributed saying:

BE EXTRA CAUTIOUS WHILE HIKING IN THE FOREST. WEAR BELLS AND CARRY PEPPER SPRAY FOR PROTECTION. MAKE NOISE. IF THEY CAN AVOID YOU WITHOUT BEING SURPRISED THEY MOST LIKELY WILL LEAVE YOU ALONE. BLACK BEAR SKAT (feces ) IS SMALL, DARK, AND ROUND. IT MAY CONTAIN BERRY SEEDS OR SQUIRREL FUR.
GRIZZLY BEAR SKAT MAY CONTAIN BELLS AND SMELL LIKE PEPPER SPRAY.

Is it kosher?

this is a very good photo of nearly exactly how it looked when it was new. Well. My High School trumpet, the Sears Silvertone ( which was actually a Blessing Super Artist ) has been passed on now to some student in the Payette, Idaho School music program.
This was my first real horn and also the horn I used for practice while I was out in Boise, Idaho. It was very handy to have out there for over ten years now. I estimate it was made in 1965 and I was the original and only owner. The sweet part is that some child who may not have the means will now have an instrument to learn on and maybe end up being a great player.
It was certainly not about making a buck on it at all, either. My satisfaction comes from knowing it will be played and hopefully skills will be developed.

Two examples that called attention to my Black/dark blue deficiency we’re most recently, a leather recliner we were giving away I described as black. My wife said, no, this is dark blue. The person who was getting it also concluded it was dark blue and so did her husband.
On our Alaskan cruise some five years ago the ship was Black on the majority of the hull bottom……to me, at least. No, it was a very deep indigo blue as told me by several people…
Usually I am able to see the error of my ways when I can see a known black object next to the object in question. Then it is clear to me.

Believe it or not, I have finally realized and have to concede that I have a bit of difficulty recognizing the difference between very dark blue and black. It has come up several times only recently but I would describe something as “black” and have everyone else who looks at it say, no, it’s dark blue!
I guess I will survive. I have so far.
I often wonder how each individual sees colors. Their green might be your blue. How would you know? You can’t get inside their brain.

I listened to the piece on YouTube. In my opinion, the effect could easily be accomplished with more conventional notation…
But that is just my opinion

The question I have is about the staccato notes. They are tied. Then there are qtr rests between them. I realize this is not specifically a trumpet part, but regardless, how would you play these, if asked?

How about some Mary Schneider? I guess all her recordings could be considered blasphemous towards the source material.

There's a lot of skill on display here but what amazes me is that no one seems to have stopped to ask "should we really do this?". None of this is easy to do and those are professional musicians, playing professionally arranged music, in professional TV makeup and wardrobe etc.

I've seen worse.

1. She is intentionally doing this yodeling style thing, she didn’t accidentally do it while trying to do something else.
2. Let's hear one of us try it…..just saying, it is definitely difficult.
3. This isn’t being done in the USA or North America.. Meaning, we have different tastes.

On the other hand, before you lash back at me….it is cringe-worthy too.
