FS: Vintage Conn 2B New World Symphony
Here for sale is a vintage Conn 2B "New World Symphony." I don't know a whole lot about it but I am 95% certain this is the correct model, as several gurus on this site have verified that for me.
I believe the horn was "restored" at some point. What this means, I'm not entirely sure, but the valves are great and compression is solid. It plays quite well and has a bright, vintage Conn tone.
I purchased it for $600 and never used it, so I'm looking to just break even.
$600 + shipping

@administrator A 1927 2B is a different horn then a 1941 wrong valve.
Shoot. What do I know. Best of luck in your "hunt."

RE: What is this Conn?
@bobmiller1969 said in What is this Conn?:
Definitely a 2B. I haven't seen one of these pop up in a while. THe last one I saw went for $600-$700 as I recall, and had definitely been overbuffed when it was refinished, otherwise I probably would have bought it. Has this horn been refinished? -Bob
Yes. I think the valves are new too.

What is this Conn?
I'm trying to sell this old Conn trumpet. I think it's a 2B, but I am not sure. Don't know what to ask for it yet.

Bach 43* (Lightweight Bell) -- $700
Bach 43* for sale. * means lightweight bell. Plays nicely, although it does need repairs. Valves are in good shape and compression is quite nice. Probably early Elkhart era.

RE: Selmer Trumpet Bell Tapers?
I can tell you that my Radial bell is very, very large. I will have to measure it tomorrow to see precisely how large, but larger than almost all modern production trumpets.

Is this Adam Rapa's line of equipment?

It really is an exceptional little horn! It’s also tiny - about the size of an Eb cornet. Cutest tiny flugel ever!
Is it even remotely playable?

RE: A bittersweet parting
I lived out there once. Payette is a nice little town. I'm sure that great piece of history will get good use.

Latest Steal
I picked this horn up for $250. First time I've owned a 43*. Yes, it needs several hundred dollars worth of repairs, but still a good deal in my mind.

RE: To Reduce Covid-19 Risks in Orchestras, Move Wind Instruments to the Sidelines
Sounds like they really just want to "marginalize" the trumpet players!!
