    • RE: Which picc?

@barliman2001 definitely send us an email to info@austincustombrass.com I do believe we only have one left in stock but I can reserve it for you with a deposit (we can sort out those details asap). Honestly I prefer the doubler over the JP eitherway!

      Best regards,

      Trent

    • RE: Which picc?

@barliman2001 Sorry for the delay I just got back from the Midwest Show and saw this note. This was not a confirmed sale (as you mention about transferring funds we did not have payment for this order... if we had a confirmed payment we would have held the horn) and we then had someone purchase it at a show. Unfortunately for us we have been burned so many times about people ordering an instrument and not paying losing out on other sales. Our company policy is that all horns are available until a fully confirmed payment has been made.

We offered an alternative option and obviously you are disappointed. I do see your side and would like to see if there's anything I can do to make this happen. Feel free to email us again and perhaps we can get you another demo. I will see if that's possible.

      Respectfully,

      Trent

    • RE: Not really a "mouthpiece safari" but the need for a "saving grace" type of mouthpiece...

@Kehaulani I didn't get the mpc from Arturo. You are thinking of Warburton. Ours was a culmination of 4 different Bach MV 3C's that I scanned, duplicated, and started combining parameters to create the one we sell. I play this mpc and it's our #1 selling piece in the ACB line. Cheers!

      @administrator

There are many reasons Rayburn's folded.

Brick and Mortar shops (like mine) can survive. It's probably just a lot more challenging in this Amazon world. We are gonna keep fightin' at it!

    • RE: Happy Birthday Clifford!

worst part is did the driving to go pick up another horn (supposedly a Committee from the Martin Factory) otherwise he would have flown with the rest of the band. Richie Powell's wife had terrible vision and huge thick glasses.

@Kehaulani I love that Album! CT told me he got that gig by chance. He was hanging out of his apt window in NYC and was chatting with Dinah that morning. She said "What you doing today?" and he said he had a rare day off. She said to get his butt to the recording session she was doing and when he got there he saw Clifford and Maynard there! What a stellar section!

Happy Birthday to one of my heroes the late great Clifford Brown. Here's a few solo choruses on Joy Spring... as always one take and no dubs...

    • RE: Survey: How do YOU test a new trumpet?

@Trumpetsplus this is a wonderful answer and a similar approach I have. Soft playing tells all in terms of efficiency of design for me at least.... ALWAYS music for me.

    • The Endsley Collection: Helping a family sell their dad's (and a friend) collection

Alrighty! The collection is starting to make it's way to the web store!

      A Few things to note:

      1. If you see the listing of the horn it's still available (the "sold out" is only because we are not running the sales directly.

      2. The price is a suggested estimate price by ACB and the estate. Any fair and reasonable offer (which actually might be above the estimated price) will be considered. Email us and we will help.

      3. All sales are going through the family directly and not ACB. This is so the family will get all the proceeds... Jerry taught my teacher who showed me how to hand cut and shape mouthpieces. I feel like I owe the family a great deal and this is why we are helping.

      4. If you have any questions call or email us. We are always happy to help!

    • Have you ever heard an Augmented Trumpet? Here's your chance (check out the video) :(

I do not share shop videos normally but this one is particularly important for me to share... It's getting to back-to-school season and "new horn" season as well. This horn demonstrates that just because the horn looks cool it might not play cool. This is the famous "Augmented trumpet" we received as a trade in from ITG. The horn's terrible playability really messed with my head. In these days where so many students quit band I have to think some of the reasons are the just terrible quality instruments they are buying online.

PLEASE do yourself a favor and stay informed of just what's out there on the marketplace. We are always here for you if you ever have questions.
