Couesnon Star Flugelhorn with custom Rotary 4th valve (for extended low passages)
Couesnon Star Flugelhorn with custom Rotary 4th valve (for extended low passages)
I do not know the person who did this custom job but it does work very well (once we cleaned it. The rotor was stuck when we received it but after a thorough professional cleaning and some valve work on the rotor it moves super smoothly! It plays great as a 3 valve with that classic French sound. As you can see in the photos there is some wear. Some lacquer loss, a few dings on the branches, some generic signs of non-use. We have replaced the felts, corks, and performed a PVA on the horn. It's quite a nice playing instrument!
This horn is sold with no case or mouthpiece (although we do have plenty of cases available if you wanted to get one).
Priced to sell quickly... it's a super 4-valve option!

5-bell Schilke Comparison video!
This was a very fun video to make! While this horn isn't for sale I wanted to share it with everyone to hear their thoughts... I have a 5-belled Schilke option in my own personal collection that I love to play from time to time.
What do you think about the differences between the bells?

Possegger Custom Trumpets?
Have you ever heard of Possegger trumpets? Anton Possegger is making some ridiculously great horns and this horn just came in to the shop this afternoon. I am blown away by how great it is! Check out the first few notes I played on it on this video:

Check out this 1933 Selmer Balanced Model trumpet!
While this one needs a valve rebuild this horn is still pretty stellar!
I can't wait to show a video once our shop completes the valve work.

RE: Superhorn Showdown!
@J-Jericho Thanks! I use these two horns (the Schilke and Yamaha) fairly often as they are both in my personal quiver of instruments. In fact I used the B1-L last night on my wedding band gig!
Thanks for checking out the videos!
